Is there any diet that has pizza on the list? lol 😃 If so, what is it?

Anyways, I will have to do doubletime with my workout after today’s lunch, although it was a small slice, it probably packed a mean calorie punch. :o
Sure, you can fit pizza into Weight Watchers. I don’t know the points for pizza, but you can look it up on WW website.

Egg noodles with asparagus that needed eating up. I added a small bit of olive oil, mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese, and some Mrs. Dash. It’s pretty darn tasty for a quick throw together!
I was drooling right along with you until you got to the Mrs. Dash. For me, that stuff ruins everything it touches. Reminds me of the hospital.

I went to lunch with one of my oldest and dearest friends. We went to a local tavern (trying to help them stay in business) and had their delicious cream of crab soup, some mussels and some rice pudding. I wasn’t planning on dessert, but the mussels were prepared with jalapeno peppers and my mouth was burning!!

Sad to say, we stayed there three hours and were the only customers there. Uh-oh.

LOL!! That is too funny!!

I like the sun dried tomato flavor the best - you should try it, it’s not hospitalesque at all! And I do add salt, it makes all the difference. šŸ˜‰

šŸ™‚ Finds Friday fasting difficult when working in a pizza place !!! šŸ•:coffee:

I had naan bread with a scoop of lentils and some double roasted salsa. I also had a slice of cheddar cheese and a blood orange. That’s what I came up with by grabbing a couple of things out of the fridge this morning and combining it with what I already had at work.

I’m so glad I joined here because my days become so hectic that I forget about the Friday abstinance rules- until I"ve already eaten a hamburger. Hopefully joining here will keep me in better in touch!
That happened to me last week. I ordered a chili dog in the lunch line, sat down, took a bite, and the second I swallowed I remembered it was Friday. I threw away almost an entire hot dog. My friends laughed at me, told me I wasn’t very good at this whole abstinence thing, and I went hungry for the rest of the day. I remembered today though. Today I had nachos, which is just plain tortilla chips with cheese, which were quite filling (not). This is only the second year I’m required to abstain, so I forget a lot.

Now, I wonder if it would have been better to eat the food you paid for, than wasting it…I too have forgotten at times, and have thrown away perfectly good food. What would Jesus have us do, I wonder, in situations such as that? :o

I don’t know. Maybe I should have eaten it and done an act of charity or something. I got my mom to bring me home a chicken onion teriyaki sub from Subway once and I didn’t realize it was Friday until she already was on the way home. So I picked off the pieces (painstakingly!), ate the rest, and saved the chicken for Saturday.

Yeah, it is something that I think of–but either way, you were cognizant of God before self, and that is the main thing during Lent and days of abstinence, especially.

Oh, all this talk about food and pizza. It’s killin’ me. :crying:

I think everyone is beginning to poop out. Yesterday, we attended a luncheon at our Church. Normally, they supply a beautiful lunch… with a hot entree… and a salad… and a dessert. We’re always very, very grateful for what we’re given. So this is going to sound awful… sorry… :imsorry:

But, well…yesterday afternoon… here’s what we were served… everyone got a plate… with a big scoop of cold tuna, another big scoop of cold salmon (skin on)… both of them, right out of the can. No condiments. There were also some dry crackers and a little coleslaw.

Now that is what I call a TRUE Lenten Friday meal! :o Meatless AND penitential! 😃

Woah, no offense, that sounds awfulā€¦šŸ˜ƒ Prisoners eat better, Marie!
I love salmon, but out of a can? Hmmm…never had that before.:ehh:

ā€œwhatevergirlā€ Let’s just say… some of us, were given another chance to FAST. šŸ˜‰ :rotfl:

ps… Yes, the ā€œcannedā€ salmon isn’t like fresh salmon. Did your folks ever make salmon patties when you were a kid? If so… they probably used good old canned salmon.

Ah, salmon patties…is that what we should be using, the canned kind? 😊 No wonder they never turn out very good. :rotfl:

Oh, yes! And salmon salad, too. It’s kind of like tuna salad - the canned fish, celery & mayo, but with the salmon, if you add a little chopped green pepper, it’s fabulous! Serve it on pumpernickel bread, perhaps as a melt with a little dill havarti - mmmmmmmm.

The thought of cooked tuna fish is almost as dreadful as sushi. If I had to chose one or the other, well, you’d just have to shoot me because I wouldn’t eat either one ever. It was always my biggest fear that someone would invite me to their house and serve tuna casserole. Then we had a friend on my husband’s spend a week with us while he had a job in NYC. He wanted to make his special dish for us to thank us for our hospitality. And guess what it was??? Fortunately he had to work and just left it in the oven for me to take out when we were ready for it. We couldn’t even get the cats to eat it! We flushed 3 smalls bowls and said thank you when he got home. He ate it for at least 3 or 4 more days.

I made vegetable soup yesterday. I gathered up a bunch of fresh vegetables and threw them in a pot. This time I used an onion, a couple ribs of celery, mushrooms, carrots, a yellow squash and a zuchinni, white beans and red beans, corn, and little shells. I used a box of vegetable broth and a big can of diced tomatoes and water for the broth. I probably spent about $5 or $6 total, but I have a bunch of soup for lunch all week, which is a lot better for me than going to McDonald’s or Jack in the Box. I’ll put it in little containers to take to work, and there’ll be some for my dad for lunch.

ā€œdaeveā€ :rotfl: Oh my. You have no idea how that made me laugh! Why? Because it’s always been one of MY fears, too. When we were kids, my mother sent tuna sandwiches to school with us so often… that I developed a real distaste for it.

Which didn’t ā€œserveā€ me well, last Friday at our Church’s luncheon. ā€œCharlie the Tunaā€ would live a LONG life in my house. 😃

In high school, a bunch of us were going to the baseball game (Cardinals) and went to one girl’s house for supper after school. Her dad was driving us to the game and said he was going to barbeque before hand. He handed me what I thought was a cheeseburger, and it was a tuna melt. UCK! I think I stuffed it in a bush. I’d forgotten about that until after I wrote that. Only twice in 58 years, I guess it’s not so bad.

We ate what Mom liked. That worked pretty well for me, except that I thought I didn’t like toast or bacon until I get a job at IHOP. She liked them ā€œwell doneā€. I’ve never liked black food. No salmon croquettes or hot tuna. Plenty of pancakes and scrambled eggs. I don’t think I had broccoli until I was a teenager. Dad worked 7 days a week, a different shift every week, so he missed a lot of meals with us.
