…yeah, Catholics seem to be stuck on the Virgin… yet, it is interesting that though there’s so little said about her in Scriptures what is said is quite profound… add to Genesis’ 3:15 visual Apocalypse’s (Revelation) 12… and… WOW!

…that ancient Battle is shown to be intertwined with Creation… the Ancient Serpent (the Dragon) hurls itself against God’s Authority, attempts against the Word as He Becomes Incarnate, and, out of utter frustration and futility, it turns against the Woman and her other offspring!.. it’s like the original Star Wars, written in the proverbial sands of time–even before time existed!

Thank you Todd 977 for providing light on the subject. The word of God gives light. “The Word of God is the true light that humanity needs.” (Pope Benedict XVI, Easter Vigil Homily, 4-11-09) The Pope said on the other occasion that we need the Magisterium to avoid traps in interpreting scripture. This thread and the post of Todd 977 affirm the caution that the Pope underscored.
