So why do you think we have so many scandals in the Catholic Church?

Oh please… When are you just going to face reality??? Over half of the diocese in Germany now have complaints lodged fro child sexual abuse. The longer you folks keep your head in the sand, more and more attacks of this horrible nature are going to happen to children. You are so pro-life when it comes to abortions, why don’t you put your money where your mouth is in all facets of it.
The church isn’t dealing with it, they are continuing to point fingers and deny wrongdoing. You can’t be forgiven until you repent. Folks in Ireland are outraged that the church will not own this and hold those guilty parties fully accountable. This is soley the reason why this scandal keepos growing and spreading.

Right.

Blame it on the secular world, which has changed a lot since the decades in which most of this abuse took place.

Blame it on the devil.

Put the blame anywhere but where it lies, on the perpetrators themselves, and on those who enabled them, their bishops, and those in the Vatican who suspected what was going on, but who chose to do nothing. Avoid scandal, at all costs.

The big difference between all the other agencies who had pedophiles among them, the Boy Scouts, the schools, the church youth ministries, is that abuse, when discovered, was generally not tolerated. The abusers were *thrown out *and, increasingly, reported to the law.

But what marked the Catholic Church is not merely the presence of the pedophiles, but how their superiors handled the abusers. Keep silence. Avoid scandal. Disbelieve the accusers. Move the abusers around. Quiet. Quiet.

Now they are paying for it–big time.
Scandals have been happening in the Catholic Church for 2000 years since the night of the Last Supper. That night Christ instituted the Eucharist and the priesthood. Except for John, within a couple of hours that night after supper eleven of the twelve would either deny Him, betray Him, or run and hide when Jesus needed them the most. These were twelve men that lived with Jesus for 3 years and saw him cure the sick, raise the dead, feed thousands, walk on water, knew he was God…but still in their human frailty and sinfulness let Him down “big time” when Christ needed them the most. As we all do.

No one ever said Pope’s, Cardinals, priests, Nuns, laity don’t sin and let Christ down. They all do. WE all do.

Anyone who gleefully likes to call out the Catholic Church on its sins only has too look in to their own soul for how they’ve let Christ down and sinned.

Here’s a good article on the wide-spread sexual abuse in our society. Interestingly, itBut what marked the Catholic Church is not merely the presence of the pedophiles, but how their superiors handled the abusers. Keep silence. Avoid scandal. Disbelieve the accusers. Move the abusers around. Quiet. Quiet.

My wife is a former public grade school teacher, and says pedophilia is fairly ramapant. In the 70’s-90’s because of the powerful Teacher’s Unions that wanted to avoid the public scandal of these pedophile teachers, they would either move them in to administrative jobs or get them to retire with full pensions and benefits.

Here’s an article quoting a study that 38.6 percent of Protestant Ministers surveyed had some type of sexual contact with a church member. We sin and need to repent:

Proallen, just wait and see. The Church will deal with this sin as it is revealed. Just as it did and is dealing with it in the United States.

As for dealing with the horrific results of deadly sin and all the ways to combat it, you have not answered my question. How does the Separated Church deal with it? Do you have yet, the answer to your sin.??? If so share it with us, are you rid of it, or do your leaders continue to falling into deadly sin falling short of the Glory of God 🤷:(:rolleyes: Carlan

Ditto…see my post above, sexual sins and abuse is also rampant in Potestant faiths amongst their clergy. Do these congregations turn a blind eye, or what?!

:hmmm::hmmm::hmmm:

Do you suppose the Scripture, 'He who is without sin cast the first stone, applies in all facets of the separated Church as well as it does in the Apostolic Church?
The Church is addressing the issue of Mortal sin, with God’s help.

What constructive help does the Separated Church offer in dealing with their own sin.???🤷:eek:
Lord help your Church and all Christians follow the light and live the Truth.

Jesus have mercy on us and on the whole world.:crossrc:Carlan
Carlan, Catholics point out all the time what they believe are the sins of others and say they are not judging one’s ultimate salvation. Do you call that casting stones? No one is judging anyone’s ultimate salvation here either. Only pointing out the hierarchy of Christ’s one and only true Church should know enough not to cover up child abuse.
Do you believe the Church does not recognize the sin? Of course , we do, after all that has been revealed? The Church in the U.S, is working on and taking care of the horrific sin and scandal. The sin, when revealed in other parts of the world, will be dealt with in the same way. Can you not see that, Matt. The Church will prevail in spite of the evil one and all who try to blame her for the sin in the world.

Saint Michael the Archangel defend us in battle ,
Protect us against the wickedness and snares of the devil;

May God rebuke him we humbly pray;
And do then, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God,
Thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits

Who wander through the world
For the ruin of souls. Amen

Thank you BobRegan, It always points to our own cover up of personal sin, when we are so quick to point out the blame and fault of others. I t is easier to condemn the sin in the majority some how. God holds us all responsible for our own sin. We would be better off seeing and understanding that.:(:rolleyes: Show us your mercy Lord, and help us to follow the light.Carlan

We’ll have to see now how all the latest is dealt with. If this latest reporting is true about the Pope, the vicar of Christ on earth, as Cardinal receiving a memo about and agreeing with the decision to allow a pedophile back into pastoring and keeping him from prosecution.

What a convenient statement. It doesn’t matter then that the Catholic priesthood seems to be the world’s largest cultivation of homosexuality and pedophilia with the hierarchy coincidentally just shuffling the deck anytime blame arises out of these atrocities. No big deal huh? Somehow some way, we can all just adhere this to everyone.😊

#Perhaps you should allow us ‘folks’ from Ireland who are Irish citizens to comment on our own country and it’s internal affairs rather than giving us your expert opinion on it. If we got twenty other Irish people here we’d get a massive range of opinions. some none too flattering with regards to the Church. However the difference would be we had some working knowledge of the subject and society as it is now in Ireland.
Holy smoke, are youv on the wine/beer,the reason there are so many scandals in the Catholic Church is because it is the bullseye, the main artery, Jesus warned us about it in Matthew …

I don’t believe the way you are acting. Let us in our own country handle this or comment on it. This is a matter for the entire Catholic church to handle no matter what country it is in. If this happens in one country it affects the rest of the Catholics around the world. To say to others to basiclly keep out of our business here is to say what happens here stays here. Well that is not the way it works. Catholics are Catholics no matter what country they live in. This is not a matter of what country it happened in its a matter of what is going to be done about it. This has also happened here in the U.S. not too long ago, so your country is not the only place it happened. People will comment on this and really there is nothing you can do about it but complain about it. But as you can see your complaining is getting you nowhere.
Sorry hawkeye this is not toward you it was meant towards (name removed by moderator)

I don’t think sex abuse scandals are limited to the Catholic Church, but the Catholic scandals are more newsworthy. Check this out:

foxnews.com/story/0,2933,116504,00.html

This in no way justifies the wrong-doing in the Catholic Church, but does show that sexual abuse happens in all churches.

This isn’t about the sex abuse that happens in all churches, this is about the Catholic church failing to deal with its own scandal. That is as factual as it gets.

Uh…maybe because it’s run by…sinners?
There you go, Proalllen,Billions of sinners belong to the Apostolic Church. Percentage wise I would say the same in the separated Church. God will be judging you as well as he will me.😛 Lord help us to follow the light and live the Truth,Amen.🙂 Carlan

“If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them” Leviticus 20:13. Why do catholics think homosexuality is right? Why does the RCC say priests cant marry? It goes against Gods law

From where did you hear that lie?. I would suggest you seek the truth before you before you make such comments. Hang out in these forums for a while, you will learn the truth of what we believe.If you do so with and open mind!.:rolleyes:😦 May the Lord bless us and protect us from all evil, Amen.Carlan

Whats the lié you speak of?
T.E. You asked,(Why do catholics think homosexuality is right? ) I said , that is a lie Catholics do not believe it is right. Homosexuality is a mortal sin (deadly sin)and if it is unrepentant , as with any other unrepentant mortal sin you commit you will end up in the bad:eek:place:eek: :shrug:Carlan
