So why doesn't God write in the sky?

I hope most of you understood what I mean by that question.

A common objection to the Christian faith is *if God loves us so much, why doesn’t He just tell us he exists? * Why doesn’t he just write in the sky “I exist?”

This is a very serious objection. If God would personally appear to us all, then it would be much easier to believe in him and follow his will.

Some will say that this, in some way, would negate free will.

But the angels knew God existed, and yet they still had a choice to rebel.

So why doesn’t God reveal to us all that he truly exists, and that Christianity is true?

Even though the Apostles suffered much for their faith, they at least had assurance that God exists. They themselves saw the Resurrected body of Jesus! So why can’t we all have this personal experience, that way there wouldn’t be any atheists? I don’t mean to sound grumpy or arrogant when I say this.

I just wish we could all have assurance like they did.

So why doesn’t God just “write in the sky”?

NOTE: This question originally popped up in my mind as an emotional response while watching a Christian vs. Atheist debate (Dinesh D’Souza v. John Loftus to be specific). While I was watching, I just thought to myself: This atheist sounds pretty sincere to me, as I’m sure most are. I felt sad for him and all of the unbelievers out there. We all want to know the truth. Why do you think God doesn’t tell us the truth in the way I described?
Why doesn’t God write in the sky? I would say that it would edify those who already believe in God, and do absolutely no good for those who don’t. Unbelievers would simply attribute the writing to some form or other of man’s technology. Take the case of the beggar, Lazarus, and the rich man (Luke 16:19-31). Lazarus dies and goes to heaven. The rich man dies and goes to hell. When he discovers that there is no escape, he begs Abraham to send Lazarus to his father’s house to warn his brothers so they will not suffer in hell, also. But Abraham said, “If they do not listen to Moses and the prophets, they will not be convinced even if one should rise from the dead.” Nothing will change even if God wrote in the sky. Believers would believe, and non-believers would reject it. We all have Moses and the prophets. We all have Jesus. We can choose to believe, or not. If we’re having a difficult time deciding, we can seek the help of the Lord. If He’s real he’ll end the doubt. If He’s not, He won’t.

"Why doesn’t God just perform some Great Miracle in the sky to prove to everyone that He exists?

He did at Fatima, then skeptics explained that it was a mass hallucination, a UFO from outer space, swamp gas, etc. Anyhow, Jesus explains this in the “Parable of the Faithful and Wicked Servants” (Luke 12:42). Life is a test. While the cats away, the mice will play. It is self-evident how sycophants fawn over superiors in charge of them, even if they despise them. If everyone was 100% assured of God’s presence, even those who disdain Him the most would be insincere servile flatterers. By carefully maintaining the possibility of not being present, God can observe and judge our true behavior, conduct and demeanor for final judgment."

God Bless

You mean that God does not “know”? He needs to observe us to be able to judge? Strange idea…

He does. Go outside and find something created by man.
Exactly. He “writes” so everyone can understand Him. Does everyone expect Him to write in grammatically-correct English so only a fraction of the world will bother to read it?

Even early man understood the reality of “First Cause.” So why can’t our very sophisticated society see what’s so obvious? Nothing comes from nothing. Someone had to create the somethings that we need for existence. God’s “handwriting” is there for all to see.

However, many are illiterate to this handwriting and many do not want to take instructions from those who are literate.

I guess it’s really true that “None is so blind as he who will not see.” If "even a “caveman” can reason to a deity, there is little hope for today’s humanity who ignore their creator. Prayer is the ultimate answer, and the only answer.

Debunking the Sun Miracle Skeptics

**THE *rain pelted the ground and drenched the crowds. It must have seemed like an exclamation point to the ridicule that filled the secular newspapers for months prior. Three shepherd children near Fatima, Portugal claimed that a miracle would occur in the Cova da Ira fields at high noon that day. It was October 13, 1917. As many as 30, 000 to 100, 000 people had gathered to witness it.

And then it happened. Or** **something did. According to eyewitnesses, the rain stopped, the clouds broke, and the sun appeared as an opaque, spinning disc in the sky. It cast a rainbow of colors across the surrounding clouds, http://www.markmallett.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/Fatima_miracle_of_the_sun.jpgthe landscape, and the people who were now fixated upon the solar spectacle. Suddenly, the sun seemed to become unhinged from its place and began to zigzag toward the earth casting the throngs into a panic as many believed it was the end of the world. Then, all at once, the sun returned to its original place. The “miracle” was over… or almost. Witnesses reported that their soaked clothes were now “suddenly and completely dry.”

The fear is though that the modern illiterate may reason to a “deity” all right, but it’s more his astrological sign or his favorite ballplayer. He usually has no time to think about his own origins or what happens after he dies.
