So why is the Catholic church so political these days

That’s a pretty broad generalization. (I also take it you aren’t a Democrat)… like I said in my other post… the “us vs them” mentality. It may shock you to know that some Democrats are pro-life and some Republicans aren’t. Get to know the individual person before you stereotype them.
Can you name three prominent Democrats at the national or state elective level that are not pro-abortion and pro-sodomite “marriage?” Actually, can you name one?

Speaking as an ex-federal employee and the child of a former federal employee, federal employees aren’t exactly in a bad financial or benefits position. Them not getting a raise is not going to be throwing them onto the poverty rolls and they will likely just end up getting the raise some other year or under some other President.

Anyone who doesn’t like their raises or their job being contingent on political maneuvers is free to go work in the private sector, but then they lose a lot of perks other than raises that federal employees get, such as job security that’s much better than what you get in the private sector, or resume-building job experiences you can’t get anywhere else.

I especially can’t stomach the “Trump = pro-life” propoganda. That’s stupidity… There are other things, the anti-LGBTQ stuff you mentioned is another … More of why I’m gladly heading back to Canterbury.
You are responsible for yourself. You will do what you will do. As far as I’m concerned and as regards MY soul, I am fine with and in communion with Catholic teaching both on the sanctity of life and sexuality.
