I don’t know what Catholisim is, but I don’t particularly agree with Roman Catholicism. So you think Catholisim is wrong? Yes a new post to start to stop the others been highjacked! lets go!
Well this is a Catholic site and if you don’t know what Catholicism is, pick up Catechism.I don’t know what Catholicism is, but I don’t particularly agree with Roman Catholicism.![]()
What is wrong with our faith? The one true church. Do you own a Catechism? That might help with your understanding. Are you looking for specifics? Or in general.
In general, far, far more right than wrong.

You might want to get a small soda and a box of junior mints to go with that popcorn!I got myready. This should be good.
My main concern is universal jurisidiction. I regularly check the Catechism online when I have a question. What is wrong with our faith? The one true church. Do you own a Catechism? That might help with your understanding.

Are you sure you’re the 1 true church? Because the Mormons would disagree with you they say they are the 1 true church. And they make the same apostolic claims you do, they also claim that Jesus Christ started their church so who’s right you, or them? What is wrong with our faith? The one true church. Do you own a Catechism? That might help with your understanding.

I tend to echo your thought…Truth is lived and demonstrated in our lives…what “sacred myths” we use to convey our understanding of The Eternal are vehicles of Truth…not Truth itself. God is Wholly Other and beyond our scope of understanding fully This Side.I don’t think it’s wrong. I just don’t find it religiously compelling. Though I do find the Church academically and culturally fascinating.
This means Orthodoxy is also in the same boat for youI tend to echo your thought…Truth is lived and demonstrated in our lives…what “sacred myths” we use to convey our understanding of The Eternal are vehicles of Truth…not Truth itself. Catholicism is not for me. I do not find it compelling. I have no need for a priest to perform rituals for me or in my behalf to receive God’s grace. I have a High Priest in whom I have been baptized into by His Hand…I have a High Priest who is present with the Father to make intercession for me and commune with me without the need for someone else to stand in the stead of Christ and act on my behalf…the veil of the Temple has been rent in twain…no more is a sacrificial priesthood required as my Priest continously “offers” His merits to the Father in my behalf…I have no need to undergo any ritual cleansing by the hand of another…Christ has cleansed me…and continues to cleanse me of sin…no human substitute could do more.![]()
I don’t understand your statement…ANY faith tradition that interposes another human being between me and God isn’t a tradition I find in character with the One Mediator and High Priest I already have. This means Orthodoxy is also in the same boat for you

A great point but I don’t necessarily think this means Catholicism is more likely to be wrong. I do think, however, that it is more likely to be perceived as wrong. I was close to becoming Catholic and one of the things that drove me away was my inability to reconcile a few doctrinal positions of the Catholic Church. It was not my desire to become Diet Hans Kung and reject biblical inerrancy, papal infallibility, etc. and claim to be Catholic. But I agree with the overall point that more and more premises that must be believed (especially ones that were not dogmatized until relatively recently) make it harder to believe Catholicism to be the fullness of faith as it claims. And the more numerous and specific the details (Catholicism certainly leads the pack in that regard), the wrong-er it’s likely to be.
Catholicism is right for some people (1 billion +) and wrong for the rest of humanity. So you think Catholisim is wrong? Yes a new post to start to stop the others been highjacked! lets go!
Now I don’t understand.I don’t understand your statement…ANY faith tradition that interposes another human being between me and God isn’t a tradition I find in character with the One Mediator and High Priest I already have.
Relativism is what it is called. The same old rants:Are you sure you’re the 1 true church? Because the Mormons would disagree with you they say they are the 1 true church. And they make the same apostolic claims you do, they also claim that Jesus Christ started their church so who’s right you, or them?
