Despite the tendency of some in government to ‘talk the talk’ regarding social justice and human rights, the USA has decided to abandon its support of social justice in the international arena.

News today (that should be headlines all over the world) informs us that this nation has now decided to value economic gain above human rights.

cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/02/21/clinton.china.asia/index.html

"BEIJING, China (CNN) – U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton broached the issue of human rights with Chinese leaders Saturday, but emphasized that the world economic and other crises are more pressing and immediate priorities.

“Human rights cannot interfere with the global economic crisis, the global climate change crisis and the security crises,” Clinton said in talks with China’s foreign minister. …"

Although China is at the very center of abuses in the pro-life area, the decision has been announced that such things are of no consequence. Citizens of all religions: time to WAKE UP.

It’s no surprise that Hillary Clinton doesn’t have a bone to pick with China. She married Clinton. She works for Obama.

What is surprising to me is that this nation has made a HUGE policy shift, unheard-of until this moment, seeking to befriend the nation of hundreds of millions of people that suffer persecution under a communist regime - in the interest of the economy. I’ve no memory of this happening ever before now and I’m 63 yrs old. It’s the kind of news that should bring outrage and tremendous caution to all citizens of the USA.

Well there both obviously of the same mindset. How disengenuous can she be? She is lecturing the Chineese that their economy and security should take precidence over human rights? When hasn’t it?

No friends that was a lecture directed towards us. She was using the occassion to address us and those of similar will. Those of us who stand up for human rights will not be tollerated. And she’s giving the go ahead to the Chi-coms to do whatever they want.

Agree. She gives China “permission” and gives all other a grave “warning” at the very same moment. I can only hope that this statement is recognized as vile and very dangerous.

This is an unprecedented change in our NATIONAL policy.

But is it? China was given Most Favored Nation status under Bill Clinton’s administration; something that’s almost impossible, diplomatically, to revoke. China was China then too.

It’s amusing, but tragic, to reflect on the fact that the Democrats have, for years, charged the U.S. with every evil deed from torture to causing acne. But China? Of course, if the U.S. accused China of anything evil now, all China would have to do is trot out page after page from the MSM to “prove” how much worse the U.S. is.

Thanks very much for posting this Catharina. As much as it is troubling, (as you point out) it’s getting virtually no coverage in the press.

You’re welcome.

Troubling, yes, and a clear warning-bell to those who will hear it.

This country is now “on the record” as dismissive and isolationist in attitude and action to any abuses of human rights if such abuses could allow for financial gains for the USA.

I wish the news were spread in bold headlines all over the world.
