I was on Snapchat and I was looking at the stories and I thought I should be careful there might be a bad photo and then I saw a photo of two people kissing. I think immediately looked away and closed the app. I just went to confession today and don’t want to be in a state of mortal sin and my parents are tiredness of me always being like this. Am in a state of mortal sin?

Also I don’t think I was looking for the bad photos but maybe I was to be honest I dont know it all happened so fast

I don’t know I’m just really scared of commiting a mortal sin right now

OP, I don’t know how old you are, but you do mention your parents. So, you probably should ask your parents to educate you on mortal sin. If you are truly unable to discern when something is a mortal sin or not, it may be wise for you to avoid snapchat so you are not wondering or worrying all the time until such time that you understand.

You need to go to your Priest and ask him for help. Talk to your parents as well.

CAF isn’t a good place for people with scruples to come. It often stops them from getting the offline help they need. Please don’t let CAF become a crutch for you, you need to talk to people qualified to guide you.

How is watching, or in the case of a photo, seeing, two people kiss a mortal sin? I must be missing something, unless one would lust after the opposite gender, and wish he/her were their’s? Right?
