The prudent man rule is only applicable when managing others’ or another’s assets.

The easy money that brought about the 2009 crisis was the result of banking special interests getting what they wanted. Congress gave it to them; not Obama.

Wow, whom here has suggested Obama was responsible for the 2009 recession?
It was actually ending before Obama stepped into office.

Yes, Congress gave us bad regulation that precipitated the housing bubble and subsequent collapse/recession.

How do you use the term “regulation”?

Being that “Congress has the power to regulate currency” via the U.S. Constitution.

Yet, regulations, today, are often consequence of Congress deferring regulation to the executive branch.

You didn’t actually respond to what I said, are you deflecting?

If you are trying to make a point about regulation, be clear about it.

Well.

You used the term “regulation”. I’m just trying to get to the root of what you are saying.

You appear to believe so.

The U.S. implements regs two ways… Congress creates them by law or Congress defers its reg creation power to the executive branch via law.

I appear to believe what exactly???

Stop being vague and make a clear case for what you know or believe.

BTW, Congress empowers the Exec branch, they don’t defer to them.

Stop beating around the bush.

This crappy economy that we have in this nation is the result of the works of the United States Congress.

Now! Can I offer anyone some exceptional customer service?

In the days of agrarianism, no one needed customer service.

Yet, today, every employee above the rank of private believes that customer service has something to do with finding some crap product for a customer b/c the customer thinks the product is going to change his life. Yet, the customer is illusioned.

You are jumping all over the place, fluttering like a butterfly.
Which means you are deflecting.

“Defer”… To submit to the will of another. Given the context, I use this form of the word defer. Although, empower is a good word choice as well.

My point is this…

The Congress and special interests have put us in the mess we are in. The Federal government is too big… It’s so big that Congress does not have time to make laws anymore, so they have given that power to another branch.

Too much law making!!! Too much big Government. Too little “real work” getting done.

The problem is “too many choices”.

Get back to basics.

Each of us … individually … is free to buy or sell whatever we can afford to.

Learn wisdom. Read up and study.

Spend less than you earn and you will have some basic happiness.

Then figure out where to save [immediate savings] and where to invest [longer term] your savings.

None of this is new:

Some phrases from the almanac quoted in The Way to Wealth include:

“There are no gains, without pains”
“One today is worth two tomorrows”
“A life of leisure and a life of laziness are two things”
“Get what you can, and what you get hold”
“Sloth, like rust, consumes faster than labor wears, while the used key is always bright”
“Have you somewhat to do tomorrow, do it today”
“The eye of a master will do more work than both his hands”
“Early to bed, and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise”
“For want of a nail…” For Want of a Nail - Wikipedia

Frugality » Instances of » The provisions made by the egyptians against famine
Genesis 41:48-49
So he gathered all the food of these seven years which occurred in the land of Egypt and placed the food in the cities; he placed in every city the food from its own surrounding fields. Thus Joseph stored up grain in great abundance like the sand of the sea, until he stopped measuring it, for it was beyond measure.

Genesis 41:53-54
When the seven years of plenty which had been in the land of Egypt came to an end, and the seven years of famine began to come, just as Joseph had said, then there was famine in all the lands, but in all the land of Egypt there was bread.

Frugality » Instances of » The gathering of manna
Exodus 16:17-18
The sons of Israel did so, and some gathered much and some little. When they measured it with an omer, he who had gathered much had no excess, and he who had gathered little had no lack; every man gathered as much as he should eat.

Exodus 16:22-24
Now on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for each one When all the leaders of the congregation came and told Moses, then he said to them, “This is what the LORD meant: Tomorrow is a sabbath observance, a holy sabbath to the LORD Bake what you will bake and boil what you will boil, and all that is left over put aside to be kept until morning.” So they put it aside until morning, as Moses had ordered, and it did not become foul nor was there any worm in it.
