I would caution about painting everything “SSPX” with a broad brush. Over the past twenty years, a good many former SSPX priests have been recognized by Rome in new priestly institutes, such as IBP in France.
Please do not confuse FORMER SSPX with the SSPX. Both are not the same.
There are also hard line SSPXers and priests. The situation, especially after the MP, is much more complex than some of the posters here would have it.
And if there is reconciliation with Rome, I’m sure they’ll break away and create a splinter group. And I’ll paint them with the same brush 🙂

The SSPX are not heretics. The Church even states this.

The Bishops however are “schismatics” on the “letter of the law” for being ordained without papal mandate.

The illicit ordinations by Archbishop Lefebvre is the ONLY reason why their bishops are “in schism”.

I love ‘‘on the letter of the law’’. As opposed to the spirit of the law. Remind you of how negatively we talk of the ‘‘spirit of Vatican II’’? The law is the law. Your spin on it is absolutely pointless. The Holy Father must mandate episcopal consecrations and Lefebvre did not get that mandate. Therefore he and the bishops he consecrated are schismatics. But heretics? No. That is unfair. The SSPX leaders should reconcile and obey the pope, not just pray for him.
