Does God still punish nations for sin?

Why wouldn’t God punish America for abortion and gay marriage?
so usa is guilty of only abortion & gay…?

to my mind its priority on SEX rather than SPIRIT, makes it one of the most sinful of countries and a punishment had come on that day sep 11 (hope the date is right as i am not an am.)

As another user pointed out, the big difference between normal times tainted with scandal and end-times which resemble today, is the complete nullification of the very idea of sin. People have always sinned, yes, but only in times like today do people try to normalize sin, refusing to believe that there is anything wrong with it. Even when prostitution ran rampant in the colonial days, it was taboo, because it was understood to be wrong. People still know it’s wrong of course, but their hatred for God has grown so deep that they are throwing out his laws entirely, and telling their children that there’s nothing wrong with indulging in good ol, pleasurable, fattening sin.
as human beings we are prone to sin and there is little point in identifying gayism as the most serious, while ignoring the worse or worst spiritual sins!

even the church officials are guilty of scarlet-like transgressions, what with the homosexual assault of children, that is a sure sign that the end of the world is imminent!

THE DIVINE MERCY OF GOD is limitless and you are advised to take recourse to Him!

Was there any time that the world was without scandal?
So true. It has been a universal tendency over history for people to believe the times they are living in are the worst possible. The world has always had sin and deception ever since the fall.

Correction.

Ever since God decided to create man.

Without man, there would be no fall.

It’s Gods fault…all of it.

Thanks for the laugh.😉
Your welcome.

It’s like rolling a car down a hill and refusing to take the blame for setting the car in motion after it smashes into a pedestrian.

God set everything in motion and when his master plan was an immediate failure, he blamed others!

:clapping:

Oh, you’re serious.
The analogy does not begin to work. A car does not have free will. 🤷

Uhm, yeah. The guy who put the car into motion has free will.

In case you can’t figure it out, God is the guy pushing the car and then blaming the pedestrian for not getting out of the way.

God made man the scapegoat for the giant mess he created.

If God hadn’t created man, there would be no sin and then God wouldn’t have anything to hate.

I guess God really needed something to hate, so he created man, who sinned and now God is happy cause he has something to hate.

Sheesh.

This is my last post.

Certainly not. God created the car. Man decided how to drive it. That’s free will.
God is the guy pushing the car and then blaming the pedestrian for not getting out of the way.
God created the car. Man was responsible for driving it and the pedestrian was responsible for looking both ways. The pedestrian has free will too and could chose not to cross the street with a car coming down the road.
God made man the scapegoat for the giant mess he created.
God is perfect. Man is not. Man makes his own mess. God only allows it.
If God hadn’t created man, there would be no sin
Man had free will and chose to sin. Man did not have to. But it’s true that God did not have to create man. So the question is why did God create man?
and then God wouldn’t have anything to hate.
There is no hate in God. Only love. God is all loving.
I guess God really needed something to hate, so he created man, who sinned and now God is happy cause he has something to hate.
God is the alpha and omega. God did not need man but man needs God. God was perfectly happy without man. Someone who is perfectly happy has no need for hate.

Wisdom -

We are called to holiness…to imitate God who is perfect. The devil temps us with all kinds of sins that are barriers to loving God. Commandment #1 is to love God with whole hearts, minds and souls, to have no other Gods. Materialism becomes a God for many, driving many from loving, True God fully. Anything that becomes an idol, replacing God in our hearts does so. Lusts of all kinds are another temptation that separate us from loving God fully, preventing us from our call to be holy. This includes but is not limited to adultery, fornication, pornography, masturbation and same sex relationships.

The devil knows each of individually and tempts us where we are weakest. My weakness is likely not yours and visa versa. When we strengthen one area, the devil tempts us in other areas. St. Paul exhorts us to persevere in faith. It’s important that we always turn to God in repentance when we fail to follow the commandments. Failing is part of being human and God knows this. The response to his love is to turn way from sin by repenting and sin no more…or at least make an effort. Ultimately, that’s how we will be judged…did we sincerely try to follow in his ways, and turn to him when we failed.
