Re: those letters, when Luther is criticised, you see the Luther the Church was dealing with.
We see from your texts that when the pope writes an official rejection of Luther’s errors, Luther responds by (repeatedly) calling the papacy the antichrist.
one can see Luther was a difficult person to deal with…
we do see it.
…he has no leg to stand on.
And yet his followers consent to Luther’s fracturing of Christendom by their adherence to his sola fide. And so they are party to the snowballing proliferation of protestant divisions according to the essentially relativistic, subjective principle of each man his own only and final authority.

We saw how Luther admitted to adding “sola” to fide, and he would do it because he’s Dr Martin Luther and he will have it so.

We see how Paul condemned division, and in extension, all those who divide. As Paul put it, those who divide serve Satan not Our Lord [Rom 16:17-20] and it’s disasterous to ones soul to divide or remain divided from the Church [Gal 5:19-21] and one notices, there is no expiration to Paul’s warnings and condemnations

Hence they could not be saved who, knowing that the Catholic Church was founded as necessary by God through Christ, would refuse either to enter it or to remain in it.
