As a Catholic, I believe the Catholic Church to have an infallible interpretation of Scripture. I believe this because of various Councils, and all the Popes, thousands of men, over the course of two thousand years, all praying to the Holy Spirit for guidance, working for the common goal of protecting the Church.
That being said, if a person believes in Sola Scriptura, then don’t they have to believe that their interpretation of Scripture is infallible. If not, then how can they be sure that what they believe is true.
If their interpretation is infallible, then why don’t all who profess Sola Scriptura agree.
I’m trying to understand why someone would accept Sola Scriptura.
