It could just as easily be shown in some respects how quickly the church was allowing unbilical teachings into the church at a very early stage.

If the catholic church was not corrupt, then why was desired in the catholic church itself for a reformation around the 15th century?

Do you consider the inquisitions that was supported by various popes for centuries a sign of corruption?

I See no mention of children nor do I see a command that a Bishop must be married only that he should have only been married once.

He is married, to the Church, and we are his spiritual children. Titus 1:4 To Titus, my true child in a common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.

Just because there are over 30,000 churches in Protestantism does not mean they are all wrong. Actually there is quite a large amount of agreement among the essential doctrines of the faith. However there are serious problems in some protestant churches.

Which doctrines does the Word say are essential/non-essential? Who is deciding? It’s simply a way to justify contradictory and conflicting doctrine and not make an attempt at total reconciliation.

Matthew 4:4 He(Jesus) said in reply, “It is written: ‘One does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.’”

Doctrines are the revelations of God. They are ALL essential.

John 16:13 But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth. He will not speak on his own, but he will speak what he hears, and will declare to you the things that are coming.

Are there changing, differing and conflicting truths??

Malachi 3:6 Surely I, the LORD, do not change, nor do you cease to be sons of Jacob.

If the Lord does not change, if the apostles were guided into all truth, if the Holy Spirit taught them ALL things and reminded them of what Jesus taught them, there can be NO contradictions in doctrines.

John 8:32 “…and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

If there is conflicting and contradictory doctrine, how can you KNOW what is the truth? And if you don’t know the truth, how can you be set free?

Please open your mind a little, to understand what people actually say, and apply some sense and understanding rather than leap to unjust criticisms. It’s not what God asks us to do. It’s a violation of the eighth Commandment.

I suppose you would criticize Christ for his admonition against the Pharisees for instance in Matthew 23:27 “Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because you are like to whited sepulchres, which outwardly appear to men beautiful, but within are full of dead men’s bones, and of all filthiness.” Is that uncharitable and un-Christian? What was Christ really doing here?

I suppose you would criticize the Church for telling someone they’ve been excommunicated, because you apparently don’t understand what either of these is for. A good hint is you can’t see these from the top of a “high horse.” So, come down off it, and get some humility and seek understanding first, before casting stones at what you don’t understand.

Are you still upset that I’ve added proper perspective to your posts which are found lacking and in need of real world perspective? Unfortunately for you, you really don’t fool me. I understand people, the Church and these forums, and perhaps you would do well to seek that as well.

I hope you understand the Spirit of Christ and what He asks us, rather than what the Pharisees improperly seek to judge and put a chill on true Christianity. Of course I know why the Church excommunicates, to point out bad behavior and hopefully get one to come to the truth. I was making a point, not asking to fill in a void. If you opened your eyes a little, you might see similarities in identifying truth. I follow the Church’s teachings and ways. If I or another points out the truth, perhaps people will come to being faithful to the true Church.

I honestly don’t care who you “circulate with” and are respected by. Sounds to me like the Pharisees who “love the first places at feasts, and the first chairs in the synagogues, And salutations in the market place, and to be called by men, Rabbi.” Have you continued in this man-made tradition in the present day? A false label of Catholic may belong with you. I don’t see the spirit of Christ in you, but wish I did, as it would be very nice to see.

With humility and trembling, I speak to our Lord each day, not caring to be respected or not by those in society who behave as the Pharisees did. I love the Lord, and know that He loves me. I also know that He hates arrogance and false attacks, so I humbly keep to the Truth.
