Ah, thought so. Who was the question directed to?

I happen to be going through RCIA myself.

Back to the topic, The Koine Greek reads like this when translated word for word:

2 Timothy 3:17

that fitted to be God’s human being(either male or female), to be the advantage of every undertaking useful to finish(or accomplish).

This goes along the same vain as the passage in Ephesians about the armor of God and such, that we are to put it on, fitted if you will.

However, Artios is found ONLY in 2 Timothy 3:17. Nowhere else is it used. The base word “arti” is found elsewhere, and it means “in this moment” or similar. There is not a whole lot of reference to go on considering artios to mean complete in the sense of perfection. Fitted is a more approximate way to translate it as such. The Greek Lexicon that I have says that it is more on reference to a special aptitude for given uses, IE, spreading the word of God.

Taken in context, the only scripture at that time was the Torah and the Tanukh. Paul wouldn’t say that the Old Testament was the ONLY and COMPLETE scripture, would he? No! Of course not.
