I, too will dispute it.
Dispute what? That Christ is fully God and fully human?

There is an unavoidable reality at work here.

1 Christ is a person
2 Christ did not write a book he founded a community among human beings
3 Any credence the bible is due springs from the community and is one with it

The idea that the one Church is a subject of scripture is lunacy, since the scriptures would not even exist outside the authority of the community that wrote them.

The protest is left with an illogical circularity.

Read my post. I will dispute anything @Bon_Croix says in opposition to the Athanasian Creed.

So the book can be segregated from the community and the community can still exist?

The law is the Holy Spirit. What does that teach us about Jewish Law?

Well, ok. Out of all the years and posts you and others have produced here, you avoid the inevitable and unavoidable point that Christ did not write a book.

Admitting such would be a game changer wouldn’t it. It forces one to submit to the full humanity of Christ and others, and that is hard.

The book would not have much value then. Bible sales would plummet.

No Ben, they are one. Christ did not write a book, he founded a Church, and out of the life of the Church comes the Scriptures.

I am learning that this must be a terrifying thought to many people.

Such a tight box…again why ?..to justify a faith community ?

A Person created everything.

At what point did I say that Christ wrote a book? Christ is God, as John 1 tells us. The word of God was written under the inspiration of God. It was not written by men outside of the Spirit’s guidance.

No, it’s not. The truth of the Messiah did not originate with writings. The truth of the Messiah originated with God. The Messiah is Jesus Christ, and Jesus Christ is God.

And it was written by human beings, none of which were Jesus Christ.

He did inspire a book as much as He inspired a community. His book and His community are both His fingertip in this world.

Without a teaching authority, there is no unity of understanding. Sola Scriptura produces 30,000 plus denominations.
