has any one herd Scott Hahn cd’s and read the book by James White ex, any one’s thoughts please, is the book good to get to compare?

Well the book is by a group of Protestant scholars and its purpose to teach/prove Sola Scriptura, which was originally a rejection of Catholic teaching and continues to be the foundational statement of Protestantism. So if you are a seasoned apologist and want to read the other sides’ arguments put forth by the current leading lights of the movement, then it would be the book to read. But if you’re just beginning to explore your own faith in depth, you’d probably be better off reading something written by and for Catholics. I’d suggest perhaps Mark Shea’s By What Authority? for a brief survey or possibly The Word, Church And Sacrament: In Protestantism And Catholicism by Louis Bouyer for a more in-depth exploration.

Have you herd the scott hahn cd? is that one of the strongest teaching for sola scriptura?

what do you think of Brant pitre? is he good to study from?
 
I’m afraid I can’t comment on either man’s CDs as I am not much of a CD listener/learner (I only listen to CDs in the car and when I’m studying I need to take notes . . . I’m more visual/text-oriented). I have a number of Dr. Hahn’s books, however, and think he is a very solid teacher. Dr. Pitre also seems to be interesting and insightful - again, most of his material is on CD which doesn’t really work for me so cannot speak to them specifically.
 
What books of hahn do you like the best? just started to get his books, and Ratzinger, I have about 80% of Hahn’s talks from saintjoe.com, what book do you recommend for getting in to apologetics and what other authors?

If you are looking for something in depth, I would suggest “Not by Scripture Alone” by Robert Sungenis. It is the best I’ve seen. He also has “Not by Faith Alone” and “Not by Bread Alone” A lot of work went into these
