Please explain this in more detail.I of course know the Catholic church slowly broke away from the teachings of the original church and in those councils approved books not considered scripture by Christ.

Some other time. Sure. Please explain this in more detail.
Well, I didn’t know. I was just using it because it’s quicker to type, not in derision. It is against forum rules to use “Prot”.
Yes, that would be good. I would only ask to add to your request he provide an ounce of evidence Christ asked for anyone to write any scripture down. Please explain this in more detail.
You make a very good point. That is real “heads-up” observation.I don’t want to upset anyone.
But I was looking for the real inventor of sola scripture.
Correct me if I am wrong but when satan was tempting Jesus did he not use scripture we he tempted Jesus to jump from the high ledge?
Also is it not because of sola scripture that Christians have broken into so many groups,
each group claiming sola scripture
as its athority.
satan would love to build thousands of churches, a great apostasy…was it not sola scripture
that was his greatest tool?
Other then nationality and culter which seems to be what separates
Orthodox, Sola scripture seems to be the devils greatest tool.
I am not a Jehovah Witness. I believe everything the Bible teaches about God, Christ, and the Holy Ghost.Well, I didn’t know. I was just using it because it’s quicker to type, not in derision.
.
If you mean the incarnate Christ, then none of the New Testament could be considered Scripture could it?I of course know the Catholic church slowly broke away from the teachings of the original church and in those councils approved books not considered scripture by Christ.
You didn’t answer my question. Are you one of those do-it-yourself Christians, or part of a denomination?I am not a Jehovah Witness. I believe everything the Bible teaches about God, Christ, and the Holy Ghost.
The Catholic church could not keep things together.Amen! I totally agree! Divisions and denominationalism are not in the Bible. But they are the hallmark of Protestantism.
By the way, you should not use “Roman” Catholic either. Catholics around here dont like that. Yes, I know you think you are the one true church. The Catholic Church is the clear answer to this, as there is only one true Church by the Roman Catholic line of thought.
Of course I go to churchSo you don’t attend church?![]()
And you as well.At any rate, Rightlydivide, I’m sorry if I’ve been too confrontational. I get carried away sometimes, but I don’t mean anything personal. I’m very happy to know that you’ve converted to Christianity (even if it is a somewhat diluted form) from atheism. I’m glad to call you a fellow-Christian.
I guess I was just born yesterday so please explain this one to me also, patiently waitingThe Catholic church could not keep things together.
Catholics splitting from Catholics and forming new Catholic groups.I guess I was just born yesterday so please explain this one to me also, patiently waiting![]()
Well, as far as I know, they’ve kept themselves together for 2,000 years, despite “reformers” and schismatics leaving 'em.The Catholic church could not keep things together…
…By the way, you should not use “Roman” Catholic either. Catholics around here dont like that. Yes, I know you think you are the one true church…
…Of course I go to church.
Obviously, gnostic and is such a secret were not allowed to know.So you don’t attend church?![]()
Gnosticism is not scriptural. I follow the Bible. Why would I give out the name of my church? Don’t you guys read the newspapers?Obviously, gnostic and is such a secret were not allowed to know.
I like your reasoning about the Roman part and that makes sense.Well, as far as I know, they’ve kept themselves together for 2,000 years, despite “reformers” and schismatics leaving 'em.
As for the “Roman” aspect, I will continue to use it, because I consider any church with Apostolic Succession as Catholic. Therefore, I consider Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, Mar Thoma, and some parts of the Anglican Communion with valid Holy Orders to be a part of Catholicism, and therefore (Although they deny it) an implicit part of the Roman Catholic Church via Apostolic Succession.
And the Church you go to… is it independent or what? Not being nosy, just trying to see where you’re coming from.
There is only One Holy, Catholic, and Apostlic Church. Any group splitting is just another form of protestantism regardless of whatever they name themselves.Catholics splitting from Catholics and forming new Catholic groups.
I’m just curious, is it a house Church? A loosely connected small body of believers praying together and working in each others lives out of Christian love?I like your reasoning about the Roman part and that makes sense.
My church is just a church. We do not belong to a denomination. The church was started by a former atheist
