You CANNOT sell your soul to the devil. It is IMPOSSIBLE. Keeping insisting it is possible just makes you look foolish.
EVERYBODY has until their dying breath to be saved ( if you deny this then you contradict Church doctrine).
 
I think He was wilfully tempted to know how to help us when we are tempted.
 
Anyway my ultimate point was that we are not always responsible for intrusive thoughts.

I am not disregarding various pious legends either.

But it requires a great degree of perfection to be pure of intrusive thoughts or temptations.

It is not possible and you are contradicting Church teaching that everyone has until their dying breath to confess any mortal sins and be saved.
I am assuming you are not Catholic otherwise you would know better.

And I am no way denying extraordinary graces or the mercy of God. That is not the point. Let’s not get caught up on semantics.

Irrelevant.

If you knew what the Church teaches you would know that NOBODY knows in advance of death if they will be saved or not.
If you die in a state of grace you are saved. If you die in a state of mortal sin you go to Hell. It makes no difference if its a satanist or you or I.
 
You can still run out of grace through presumption of God’s mercy and become destined for hell before death. I have heard it from a priest. Presumption of mercy is a mortal sin in itself. We do not have infinite access to grace while we are alive to an extent. We are fully capable of burning our relationship with God. We can only repent as an act of his grace in itself. It is a relationship. Sure common teaching is up to death but that is not always the case.

Its not common teaching. It is an infallible teaching that we have until our dying breath to repent and be saved.

You may wanna try praying for protection from Mother Mary. And keep yourself busy doing something useful. If you feel at unrest, you can talk to a priest or go to confession.
 
The same thing happens to me. I get intrusive thoughts like that. Then I have to interrupt these thoughts to say the opposite.

Pray often. Pray to Jesus to protect you and your soul, knowing you already belong to Him. It is not your soul to trade.

You can sell your soul to Satan, although not in the sense in which you become his property. That can’t happen. You belong to God. However It does happen that people can bring a curse upon themselves by wishing to sell their souls for material goods, and it can result in serious demonic oppression. The solution is to have recourse to the sacrament of confession and if need be, consult a priest with expert knowledge of the demonic.

In any event, to the OP, get out of the habit of saying things like this. Even if you’re not being serious. It’s wrong to joke about this sort of thing.

  1. Demons are not a joke, but neither are they all-powerful. Any human being with free will can resist demons, if he wants to. Any baptized person can choose to ignore them.
That said, demons are perfectly willing to throw supernatural tantrums if they don’t get their way, or to trick humans into forgetting that demons ultimately have no power over a human soul except what a human gives them. That can be very un-fun. But it just goes to show what powerless losers they are. They have been pouty, whiny losers since the moment they rebelled, and they will continue to be losers until the end.

Meanwhile, all humans have an infinite number of take-backs, until they die. All you have to do is ask God for forgiveness (go to Confession!).
  1. Having your own brain bug you about a random thought, or having demons bug you about a random thought – neither one has any validity in the real world.
  2. It’s surprisingly unhelpful to tell yourself “Don’t think about X” – because your brain will think about it more. Negative formulations just don’t work.
Notice an intrusive thought, but don’t worry about it or get worked up – and that thought will go away. It’s just like watching muddy leaves and twigs float along a ditch. They float in; they float out; they’re gone. No big deal.
  1. Finally, there’s actually no way that a demon can hear your thoughts. God knows your thoughts, of course, and He can relay the thoughts and prayers of the living, the heavenly saints, and the good angels to each other. But obviously He is not doing this for the demons!
Demons are really good guessers about what humans may be thinking. But then, any two-bit “cold reader” or canny mom can read your face and body language, and make a good guess at what you are thinking and feeling. And that’s ordinary stupid humans, not obsessive immortal bodiless critters with no hobbies.

So yeah, it’s either pure coincidence with your brain playing tricks, or it’s demons playing tricks and trying to make you think they know something that they don’t.

But either way, it’s no big deal. Just roll your eyes at the silly pettiness of it, and go on.
