Solemn EF Mass in Western MA

On Sunday, August 5, at 10:30 am, a Solemn High Mass in the Extraordinary Form will be held at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 84 K Street, Turners Falls, Montague, Massachusetts. Fr. Robert Fromageot, FSSP, will be the celebrant. Seminarians from Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary in Denton, Nebraska, will serve at the altar. Parish altar boys will be torchbearers. The schola will be made up of Fraternity seminarians, led by FSSP chant instructor Nicholas Lemme of Rapid City, South Dakota, and the parish music director, Henry Gaida, will be organist. The Rosary will be recited in Latin before the Mass.

This is the first Solemn High Mass in the Diocese of Springfield since the Ordinary Form was promulgated. There is currently no regularly scheduled EF Mass in the diocese.

I might just have to pop over there! I’m a regular Altar Boy at the Latin Mass in the neighbouring Archdiocese of Boston so I’d like to see how Springfield takes it.

Do come! Encourage others to go. If you know any priests/deacons/seminarians who don’t have obligations then, tell them about it. I’m sure the organizers would love to have priests attend in choir.

Here in the Diocese of Springfield, we have no regularly scheduled TLM. Perhaps this will spearhead the Fraternity coming into the diocese.

I pray you are able to get the FSSP to start a Parish there!YAY!!

If possible, please keep us posted, with pictures, video, etc.!
If possible, please make fliers to distribute in the area, to spread the word!

I’ll probably be wearing a plain black suit, but I would say that even slacks and a nice shirt would be good. Just dress modestly, respectfully, and nicely, according to your means.

Right. I’ll wear the same. If you see a well dressed stud with a maltese cross lapel pin say hi, cause it’ll be me.

Lol. I will, if I see you.

I might not be able to go. 😦 I don’t yet have my license so I rely on others to bring me places. My usual ride for such events just backed out, so I pray that I will be able to find a ride. There are a handful of others who may be able to bring me. :gopray:
