I will be attending a solemn pontifical mass this Saturday (not a Sunday vigil) at the National Shrine in Washington, DC. http://www.newliturgicalmovement.org/2018/04/pontifical-mass-with-abp-sample-in.html

It promises to be amazing, and I am so grateful for this rare opportunity. I have attended perhaps a dozen EF Sunday Masses (missa cantata and low) over the past few years and am getting comfortable with following in my missal. I understand that there will be differences in positions, servers, and vestments, but I’d like to prepare a little on the texts and music so I am not lost.

The notice reports that “the Mass will be a votive of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.” So am I correct that this is what will be followed? http://www.extraordinaryform.org/propers/ImmaculateHeartofMary.pdf

Anything else I should be aware of in order to get the most out of this? Thanks!

I am so jealous… I can’t make it, but this is definitley a major milestone for the EF in the us

The link is to the propers, except that the Easter (Greater) Alleluia will replace the Gradual and (Lesser) Alleluia shown in the link.

Sounds very nice. I was fortunate to go to the one at St. Peter and Paul in Philadelphia last year. I have a conflict with a family matter and cannot go to this one on Saturday or watch it on TV, so I hope EWTN follows its usual practice of uploading the video.

Unless you are seated near the front, it may be hard to actually see everything going on, so just concentrate on prayerful participation and like I said you can probably watch the video later to see everything you missed because people’s heads were in the way.
