I propose that God calls us all towards human solidarity, according to Catholic Social Teachings… Is that based in holy scripture?

Please define “Solidarity” so I can make an informed vote in your poll. I do not know what “human solidarity” is according to the RCC.

Of course, and here is the term used in the Catholic Social Teachings sense.

*Solidarity

Our culture is tempted to turn inward, becoming indifferent and sometimes isolationist in the face of international responsibilities. Catholic social teaching proclaims that we are our brothers’ and sisters’ keepers, wherever they live. Learning to practice the virtue of solidarity means learning that “loving our neighbor” has global dimensions in an interdependent world. *

New ULM1976-2000 says it best by quoting one of the seven core values of Catholic Social Teaching entitled, “Solidarity.”

The quote given defines for me “human solidarity,” with all of us being brothers and sisters and God as the Father.

All good things flow from this…

Are there any other places I can look in scripture.

This is my first day on catholic.com and this just brightens my day.

Many Thanks.

So to practice solidarity, all I have to do is learn that “loving my neighbor” has global dimensions in an interdependent world?

Maybe extending the best parts of our family relationships to include an extended family that eventually encompasses the entire world…
