pro, it is true. In the Phanar they have a gateway that is still closed because the Ottoman’s hung a Patriarch there. The Turks occasionally try to force them to open it. HIs name was Patriarch Gregory and the date was Easter 1821. Now I know you will try to weasel out of it, but it is historical fact.
Ah, I see. You’re reaching back nearly 200 years to find a reason to bash Muslims.

Just think of all the delights Christianity was involved in at that time…like justifying slavery in America.

Your hypocrisy and one-sidedness knows no bounds.

You asked for details, as usual, I gave them, as usual. What do you think about slavery in the Islamic world TODAY. Remember the Sudanese boy who was enslaved and crucified because he was a Christian? I won’t let you forget.

It’s morally repugnant.

Now, is the western world today morally outrageous too? Even worse than the Muslim world? Will you answer that question?

Is your home country more barbaric than any Muslim country due to its murder of millions of babies every year? There’s no Muslim country with a similar rate of infanticide. So what’s your conclusion?

Many Turks Become Christians

Istanbul, Jan. 23–(UPI) Some 35,000 Turks converted from Islam to Christianity last year, with most joining evangelical congregations the newspaper, “Milliet,” reports. If true, this would amount to a mass movement, considering Christians make up only 0.2 percent of Turkey’s 68 million population. “This is news to me,” said the Rev. Holger Nollmann, the German Protestant pastor in Istanbul.

However, Ihsan Ozbek, president of the Council of Independent Protestant congregations, said more and more Turks were turning toward Christianity. “However, given the Islamic environment in which we live, most Turks coming to our congregations do not wish to make waves.”
The German protestant news service Idea reported most converts are descendants of Orthodox Christians who ostensibly became Muslims to avoid being killed in Turkey’s 1914-22 genocide of its Armenian minority.

The figures are a bit hard to to believe - OTOH, any conversions to Christ can only be welcomed 😃

You either fail to understand my English since you do not read my post in its entirety or deliberately distort my message. You can clearly see - if you re-read my post above - that I gave the example of the executed Patriarch in order to criticize the Ottomans in the first place. More, my post demonstrates how pro-Islamic Turks have been “Islamo-fascist” since the Ottoman era up to today! You also focus on the past to support Muslims while ignoring the Islamic insurrection that occurred in eastern Turkey 13 years ago. What’s this if not hypocrisy?

I suggest you study Iran’s history to see what Islamo-fascism gave to Muslims! Most Turks have a good reason to resist the fantasy of establishing an Islamic government in Turkey. They would in every case prefer an army defending secularism to an army defending the regime of the Islamic clerics.😉

Salam

pro, the problem is that crucifying that boy, or stoning a woman to death, or killing an apostate is NOT morally repugnant in Islam. It is a virtue. We Catholics actually fight against abortion and think it is evil not a virtue. Therein lies the difference. Islam does evil things and says they are good.

Yes i agree with you muslims are more then danger for us then any other religion or church. In which part of continent i am living its islamic area. They always want to make terouble for Christians. And they reall dislike Christians heartly, even they live in USA or UK or any other country even they looking honest some where.
You know Jesus Said: “They accept me but not heartly. There heart far to me.”
So they are like those far to Jesus. Not really willingly to accept Him.

sixtus, both are threats. But Protestants generally don’t fly planes into buildings or act as suicide bombers. So I would much rather deal with them. Muslims have tried to kill us and I was personally attacked by one. I am delighted that so many are converting to Christianity. It is a hopeful sign.

These 35,000 Turks, what form of Christianity did they convert to ??/???

One of the local Catholic Churches has a member who’s Orthodox father in Turkey was killed for refusing to convert to Islam.

The threat of radical Islam is real.

I must ask you r. gonzales, what do you know about Turkey? Have you ever been ther? Have you met anyone from Istanbul? Bursa? Antalya? Izmir? Please do not make assumptions from what you see on television or on the news. Since it is a predominatly Islamic Community, they are misrepresented.
Majority of Turkish Muslims have a very strong belief in Islam and its teachings. If you want to know more about Turkish Muslims you might want to refer to the Ottoman Empire (hopefully you have heard of it). It was one of the largest empires that has ever existed and never forced religion on any person (Unlike Christianity and Catholicism).
While forcing people to convert on pain of death was not the policy of the Ottoman empire, it happened all the time at the hands of their conquering armies.
It is also not the policy of Rome or any other Christians sect to force conversions, but there have been times in history when over enthusiastic people have done just that.
We are aware of what actually happened in history. Your simplified version of history does not work here.

Hi
Please don’t worry about them. They would all come back with many more with them when they know that JesusYeshuaIssa did not die a cursed death on Cross, but he died a natural and respectful death later among the lost ten tribes of Israel.
Thanks

Hello paarsurrey, could you explain a bit more on the natural death of Jesus our Lord?

Thanks!

I read your link. I found nothing that was common or consistent with either Tradition or the Bible.

No thanks. Having met the risen Christ in the Holy Eucharist, have no doubts in my mind.

I will pray for you and your TRUE enlightenment, not myths created by an irreligious BBC 😉

Hi
Thanks for reading the link. There is no compulsion in religion, one would believe of what one is convinced. May GodAllahYHWH bless you!
Thanks again

Amen

Then you are a good man Ahmadi and God [Allah] is with you 👍
I’m not exactly sure of Ahmadi’s claim of “bridging gaps between faiths/denominations/religions/agnostics”. So far his/her approach as been to call Christianity a false religion. Does not seem that this approach will bridge any gaps.

I do not think that we should be uncharitable by calling religion other than our own ‘false’. I believe the Holy Spirit goes where He will and speaks to whom He choses. We cannot be sure He has not spoken to some Muslims.

Either way, in my humble opinion one should respect men [and women] of peace and goodwill

The very basic philosophy of the Ahmadi sect relates to their version of what became of Jesus en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ahmadi#Comparison_of_belief_between_mainstream_Islam.2C_Lahore_Ahmadiyya_Movement.2C_and_Ahmadiyya_Muslim_Community
There is a book of a convert from this sect to Christianity called CAPTIVE OF THE CHRIST by Steven Masood. Also you could look at this link answering-islam.org/Testimonies/masood.html

However, you must also note that there is a lot of persecution of this sect in certain countries. We as catholics do not believe or accept their claims as true, but can appreciate their goodwill.
God bless
