Does anyone on here know of any Catholic charity or organization ( UK based please) that help families going though issues, my daughter’s father is causing me grief and making life very uncomfortable, i cant tell you the full details but we stopped being a couple with my daughter was 5 days old and i found out that from the police and Social service that he was not quite the person he made himself out to be, we never married thankfully.

I have tried to let him have contact with his daughter she is now nearly 6year old, due to his pass he isnt allowed to take her out by himself so i have to supervise all contact. After nearly 6 years its becoming very stressful i spoke to my parish priest about it and he now knows the full details, Her father recently got a new girlfriend who is twenty years younger then him, thats fine with me all i want is for him to go away and let me and my family have a life, today he come here to visit and demanded i made him food complained i didnt make him coffee, on Wednesday when he was here he said i didnt need to cook for him anymore that someone else will.seems to me he wants the best of both worlds a family when he wants one and a girlfriend. Four times a week he sees his daughter i have no quality family time, had one Saturday without him being here in the last 6 years. I asked for a weekend once a month to spend time with my family alone without him apparently i can only do that when his girlfriend has the weekend off they have only been with each other for 3 weeks, im so flipping frustrated i want to scream and hide somewhere if i had money i would disappear with my family.

Im due to be received into the Catholic church at Easter and all i put up with is him slating the church, apparently he claims he is a confirmed Atheist, I told my parish priest that i can no longer cope with putting up with this and said that i have begged God to take him out of my life, I know its Lent and i have tried to do the right thing but can not longer keep it up, he has finally worn me down.

Sorry im in a ranting mood 😦

If there is any such organisation in your country your parish priest or bishop should know about it.

I can certainly understand your frustration at having to put up with this situation.

It sounds like you are trying to do your best, but it is very unpleasant to live with.

I don’t know about laws or how this could be handled; perhaps this could be looked into?

May our Lord give you guidance and peace.

Is there a Catholic social services there? Your priest may know where/who to call. Also, you may just have to up and say to the man that he isn’t welcome. At least, not with an attitude. If you have to supervise all visits, it’s up to you to take control here. Sounds to me like he has had more than enough control already.

Sorry if I sound a bit harsh. My daughter’s dad never wanted anything to do with her after our divorce. I was doing good to get any child support out of him. Sometimes I still feel the urge to look him up and give him a good slap on the head. Not that it would help his attitude any, but I might feel better.

Do you have family courts over there? Here in the US the judge can decide the custody arrangements and visitation rights for the non-custodial parent.

Good luck!

his got worse over the last few weeks since the girl friend, going on a guilt trip i think, he told me his trying to make me jealous but its not working, my sister told me today she is visiting on Wednesday and he better not be here, he may be able to pull the wool over his girlfriends eyes and not tell her the truth but i sister wont put up with it, She said if he acts like a idiot tell him to get out if he wont leave call the police.

Anyway tomorrow is another day maybe he will forget where i live and i can have a peaceful Sunday.

Custody isn’t the problem no judge in this country would allow it, because of his past, I have decided to go and see a lawyer on Monday to see if i can stop him coming, i think that is the best thing to do at the moment until he sorts himself out, don’t see why we have to suffer, Think his behavior is due to not being able to tell me what to do, he attacks the church told me to chose between him and God, i told him we aren’t together so there isn’t a choice to be made God wins hands down, told him if he didn’t like coming into a Catholic home then dont come.
