  • Singing in the Rain (truly not a fan of the musical film genre but this is one of two that I really enjoyed)
  • Guys and Dolls (this is the other)
  • Westward the Women (a rare Western with a plot revolving around the female characters)

I saw Jaws at a theatre in Houston the weekend that the movie made its debut. It was a large theatre and it was packed. Lots of screaming when the shark jumped out of the water towards Brodie who was slinging chum fish from the back of the Orca. 😮

Yes, you definitely have some catching up to do!!! 😃

The Lady Vanishes was just on last night.
That is a good one!

I love all those Alfred Hitchcock movies. You left the Birds off your list.
I probably needed to divide it into categories.
Them! is my all-time favorite sy-fy classic movie.

My first time seeing Jaws was while I was attending a summer camp for kids with disabilities. ♿ Summer of 1979, as I recall. The movie was showing at a theater near the camp and we had an outing to see it. I wonder how many of those kids had nightmares after seeing that movie; I know I did. But I appreciate it more now as an adult, and own a copy on Blu-ray.

“Show me the way to go home. I’m tired and I wanna go to bed. I had a little drink about an hour ago and it’s gone right to me head…” 😙

Don’t forget Vertigo. Another good one from the Master of Suspense!

And Strangers on a Train! “Criss-cross!”

African Queen!!!

And I know it’s not a “classic,” but I watch National Lampoon’s Family Christmas several times a year. If a movie could go to heaven with me, that’s the one I would want, regardless of some of the language. Love it so much.

Not classics, but my all time favorite movies are Falling Down, Diva, Quadrophenia, Control, and the original French version of La Femme Nikita. (The US version with Brigitte Fonda was very mediocre.)

I also like Kill the Irishman, it reminds me of being a young teen during the years when bombs were going off all over town. The house across the street from ours was hiding enough dynamite to blow up the block and was eventually massively raided by the police after a kitchen fire almost set off the lot. Good times.

The Birds is good, but not one of my favorites. I am not a big Tippi Hedren
fan. (is that her name?)

I forgot to include Shadow of A Doubt and
Niagara.

I like Joseph Cotten.

Shadow of a Doubt was obscure, but perhaps one of Hitchcock’s best movie. Terrific acting.

Thanks for the Happy Cake Day wish!
The Manchurian Candidate was a classic. Frank Sinatra, Angela Lansbury, and Laurence Harvey. Outstanding acting!!!

Falling Down. Sometimes a relatively weak script can be saved by the good acting of folks like Michael Douglas, Robert Duvall, and Barbara Hershey.
