Not for a person with moral OCD. That is the point of my thread.but the final judgement and your death is probably a good thing to keep in the forefront of your mind as you make decisions throughout your life.

Right, that means they need a priest and not a heretic.phil19034:![]()
For them to stay Christian, they need to be mentored by sensitive Catholics who don’t reinforce negative punishments by a powerful God.At least in Christianity, they are taught that they have a God who loves them.
Depends on the priest. And the kind of Catholic I’m talking about often inhabits Christian internet Forums. Judgemental, finger-wagging and fear-mongering.Right, that means they need a priest and not a heretic
Yes I agree. But Catholicism is potentially one of the worst , a minefield of detail. When I was a kid we had to memorise much of the catechism at school.A scrupulous person will have trouble in any religion
Fingerstyle guitar / Beatle songs. Gets my mind off religion. So what is your solution?
Exactly. Daily if you scan the list of topics you will always see newbies seeking advice about such minor, trivial sins (not always but often).but the amount of time spent on topics like ‘is it a sin to…?’ is terrifying.
Again… this is why a person who is scrupulous needs to have a Spiritual Adviser.phil19034:![]()

OK officially for example masturbation is a sin. Now a morally ocd teenager
is going to take that one to heart and feel enormous amounts of guilt if he does it even once.
