Nathan has always wanted to be a writer. He freelances a little bit, but he has been working a job that isn’t what he wants to be doing at all. Luckily, the place where he works is filled with wonderful guys his age, and they have become quick friends.
For the past year, we have been in constant discussion regarding Nathan’s career. He went to college for writing, and he has won a number of awards for screenplays and short stories.
Luckily, God has given me a wonderful career in which I am very happy. I make great money, and I can easily support both of us at our current cost of living while Nathan follows his dreams of writing. We’ve been putting his paycheck into savings the entire time we have been engaged/maried, so we have a nice cushion fund if something should happen.
Nathan gave his two week notice at his current job today, and he will officially start writing full time on September 29th of this year. Please pray for him to be blessed with the confidence and success necessary to follow his dreams.
I think the next few months are going to be tough for him as he adjusts to the role of househusband and writer. He’ll be working from home, and he will assume the responsibilities of cleaning/cooking/daily petcare while I continue to work and attend graduate school.
Also, if you have any advice it is very welcome! He has already experienced some judgment from others regarding the role of househusband, but he knows it is what God has called him to do.
Thanks
