Some Questions on Diary of Blessed Faustina

Right now I’m reading parts and excerpts from Blessed Faustina’s diary, the book is called
“Revelations of Divine Mercy: Daily Readings from the Diary of Blessed Faustina Kowalska”

I must say, it’s just so amazing and beautiful. Truly beautiful writing that I wish more people would read.

Since the book only has parts of her diary, does anyone think that I should perhaps read the actual diary? Am I misiing something? I’m hoping someone has read both books and can give me an opinion.

I’m also looking for these books in Spanish, I want to share it with my mom and aunts. I hope they are in Spanish, but I can’t seem to find them.

I have a couple of questions about some things in the book.
Who are the chosen souls? Jesus talks about how the sins of the chosen souls cause him pain. Are the chosen souls the religious?

Also, Blessed Faustina talks about her misery and the misery in her soul, does anyone know exactly what she means by that? I have an idea, but perhaps I’m misinterpreting things.

I have the book of her diary. Yes, it is a great book as she wrote from the beginning that Jesus told her this book would be benefit to many souls.

I believe when she meant ‘the chosen souls’ she meat those religious ones.

I know that her diary is in English and in Vietnamese. I hope they have in Spanish.

You are welcome. I normally read about 1/2 page or whole page per day. When reading it, one can use her prayer as his/her own.

I hope your aunts will like it too.
 
I am reading the Diary of St. Faustina. at the moment - very slowly! It is very beautiful and intense.! I will try and share with you what I take to be the misery of her soul. St. Faustina was so in love with Jesus that she could not bear to be away from adoration of Him for a second. Yet she had her duties as a Nun to preform and was not always free to be in front of the Blessed Sacrament as much as she would have liked. Jesus often remimded her of her duties and that it was a sacrifice for her, but obedience was part of her vows. St. Faustina had terrible darkness and temptations and called this the abyss of her misery.Yet her confessor told her that these “trials” showed just how much God loved and trusted her and how close she was to Him .It was in these moments that her soul was in misery. She had many such moments and inward tortures. She was especially choosen by Jesus to get the message of His Divine Mercy “up and running” and spread to the whole world, and as we know nearlly all Saints had a very tough time, spiritually, or had terrible illness. and suffering. You should certainally read the whole diary! Hope these thoughts help.🙂 Try and pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.When you do the whole meaning of the Diary comes to life:)

Otherwise we wouldn’t have faith in Him.**
 
After reading so many posts about the Diary, I purchased it and find it amazing that so many are able to read it. My concentration doesn’t stay long - and I feel very unworthy when I read some parts.

It took me a LONG time to read the whole thing. I found that it isn’t like a novel where there are easy chapter divisions and easy places to stop reading…so I would just read as much as I could in a sitting and then stop.

We’re all unworthy – even St. Faustina was! (though she is quite an example of love and obedience for us to follow) The whole message of Divine Mercy is that yes, we are all unworthy of God’s love, but that in His Divine Mercy we are able to receive that love anyway. Keep reading – I’m sure it’ll bless your life as it has mine. 🙂
 
In one part of St. Faustina’s Diary, she mentioned about a small imperfection that made her miserable. She put down all her work and went to prostrate in front of the Blessed Sacrament.

Saints’ conscience are very delicate, their love for the Lord are great. Their standards are high.

When one is under the intense light, even tiniest spot will be revealed.
While for those under dim light, everything looks clean.
