Some Truth Even in Satanism?

From what I’ve seen, most satanists seem to believe that the “Christian” version of satan is just a myth. Satanists will actually tell you that they do not worship satan, but that they only worship themselves.

Then why all the ceremony? Why Satan? They can worship a bobblehead for all they care then? No - they DO worship Satan. If they say they don’t - they are lying - like Satan.

Would you not think that there is truth in one of the principles of the Church of Satan here:

Satan represents man as just another animal, sometimes better, more often worse than those that walk on all-fours, who, because of his “divine spiritual and intellectual development,” has become the most vicious animal of all!

The ideology of satanism is best summed up by what aliester crowly (the father of modern satanism) wrote in his demonically inspired book ‘the book of the law’: “Do what thou wilt, shall be the whole of the law”.

There’s no truth to satanism. It’s basically an inversion of Christian teachings, and the allowance of man’s sinful carnal nature to control him. It inspires satanic self will, rather than adhereing to God’s divine will.

That’s not what “Do what thou wilt, shall be the whole of the law” means. Crowley clearly stated, several times, that the way to learn one’s true will is to achieve knowledge and conversation of his holy guardian angel. This requires rigorous discipline and has absolutely nothing to do with hedonism as you’ve implied.

Also, don’t you see how referring to objectionable texts as “demonically inspired” is absolutely the most empowering thing you can do to such texts?

There are some people in the world who do represent what the Satanists are talking about. However, if people are as bad as the Satanists say, then the answer isn’t their hedonism. You know, “humanity is evil, but my desires should be indulged.” Creepy stuff if you carry their logic to its conclusion.
