Would you not think that there is truth in one of the principles of the Church of Satan here:

Satan represents man as just another animal, sometimes better, more often worse than those that walk on all-fours, who, because of his “divine spiritual and intellectual development,” has become the most vicious animal of all!

What do you think of this principle by Satanists?

Sounds like what you’d expect Satan to think of mankind–cold cynicism whose source is hatred and envy.

The ideology of satanism is best summed up by what aliester crowly (the father of modern satanism) wrote in his demonically inspired book ‘the book of the law’: “Do what thou wilt, shall be the whole of the law”.

There’s no truth to satanism. It’s basically an inversion of Christian teachings, and the allowance of man’s sinful carnal nature to control him. It inspires satanic self will, rather than adhereing to God’s divine will.

Well, just to clarify, haven’t we become our own vicious animal, with our wanton destruction of nature, our wars, hatred, biases, etc.?

This wouldn’t prove truth in satanism. Satanism encourages people to embrace the evil carnal nature of man. All of those negative things prove just why satanism is wrong for embracing man’s sin nature.

No one is saying Satanism is true, but rather that even Satanism must have some sort of truth, however few that might be.

Satanism is a lie, sometimes we exchange truth for a lie and look at the state of the world and see the result. We fight battles on the outside while we should be fighting battles on the inside.

I can’t see any direct good coming out of Satanism. however ex-Satanists, if there’s any, may see Satan’s lie clearer than us

Jesus called Satan the Father of Lies. So how can there be truth in him?

The biggest way satan can lie is to take a kernel of truth and then wrap a lie around it. Satan is masterful at twisting and making things sound good and true when they are not. Many false religions are based on the smallest bit of truth but encased in complete lies. If something was an outright lie it would be easily seen as such, but something that seems true is harder to reject.

I think you’ve hit it well in the head. Exactly why I made this thread: now, there might be some truth said in Satanism, but then as stated, Satan being the father of lies, will use even that truth for his own means.

Satanism has at least one significant truth to it…

Satan exists, the devil is real.

This is an important truth, as all to often these days, people replace the devil with the abstract concept of evil.

(I wouldn’t try to derive to much more from satanism, though.)

Satan does use some truth - but manipulates it. Remember how he misquoted Psalm 91:11-12 to Jesus durring the temptation? Or, how he enticed Eve to eat the fruit? Satan takes truth and wraps it in a lie so he can trick people. False religions flourish by doing the same.

Satanism is hedonistic and selfish it encourages people to indulge their every desire no matter how depraved it may be in truth they are the most rabid of Atheists.

From what I’ve seen, most satanists seem to believe that the “Christian” version of satan is just a myth. Satanists will actually tell you that they do not worship satan, but that they only worship themselves.

satan makes EMPTY promises.

There is NO truth in satanism.
Don’t Satanists believe that Satan was created by God? Wouldn’t it drive them nuts to be somewhat grateful to God for creating the thing they worship? I think if you mention this to them though, they may sacrifice you.
