Some walk, most stay for Mass message

The Bishop had every right to have his message delivered to his parishes without comment from the priests or anyone else. But, I think he should have left the death penalty out of it because it is not an issue in Wisconsin nor does the Church teach that it is intrinsically evil, which many may think from his comments. Aside from that, I think it is high time Catholics be told what’s what instead of left to float on their own in a culture that has turned its back on natural law in favor of selfishness and sin.

I wonder if the people who left will ever be returning? Following Christ is not easy, his way is not the way of the world. I applaud the Bishop for giving the church a voice during these troubled times when many shepherds are silent. At least people now can make a choice given church standings. I wonder if the people who left Jesus after his difficult sermon ever returned?

John 5:61 Many therefore of his disciples, hearing it, said: This saying is hard, and who can hear it? … 67 After this many of his disciples went back; and walked no more with him

Warmest regards,
-Ben
