5. Per the life of the mother arguement: If it is to save the life of the mother and an effort is made to also save the baby it isn’t an abortion?

Medically speaking, a miscarriage or stillborn is a natural abortion while therapeutic abortion is used to save the life of the mother.
Therapeutic abortion has always been legal. What Roe v. Wade legalized was aborticide, the destruction of the fetus within the womb for reasons other than saving the mother’s life. Without the mother, the child cannot live.

A great line from the movie Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison as the nun and marine become acquainted. The marine says, “I was a b…I was illegitimate. At least I was born.” My favorite bumper sticker “I’m glad my mom’s pro-life.”
