Someone here hears God's Voice, Jesus's Voice, Angel's Voice, Saint's Voice or Holy Spirit's Voice?

Does someone here hear the voice of God, the voice of Jesus, the voice of a Angel, the voice of a Saint or the voice of the Holy Spirit audible and literally? Does God, Jesus, a Angel, a Saint or Holy Spirit speak audible and directly to you? Or does you know someone who hears? Does God, Jesus, a Angel, a Saint or Holy Spirit speak audible and directly to someone? Does God, Jesus, a Angel, a Saint or Holy Spirit speak audible and directly to someone in dreams?

Outside of a few saints, very few people have ever audibly heard the voice of
God, Jesus, a Angel, a Saint or Holy Spirit
These experiences are not necessarily supernatural. Anyone experiencing unknown or unseen voices should talk with their physician First.

I’ve never heard voices.

I have received thoughts that I believe are from someone outside myself, but… I believe I was told to go to a local Catholic book store & buy the Divine Mercy image. I didn’t hear a voice or individual words, but it was revealed to me exactly what store & where it was located in the store & everything was as “described”

I don’t know if it was God, my guardian Angel, St Faustina, or who.

But every time I get something like that, I don’t bother trying to figure out who or what it is. I just thank God & move on. I figure if it’s something evil, it’s going to get tired of me always giving credit to Jesus/the Virgin Mary.

But if it’s something contrary to what the Church teaches, I just ignore it.

If I were you, I’d try to find a spiritual director, or set up an appointment to talk to a priest. Don’t just try to catch him when you see him. Get him to set aside some time to really talk. Write down a list of examples of what you’re talking about & don’t hold anything back. Tell him everything.

Catholic church guidelines:

Do not believe any private revelation you experience until approved or disapproved by a holy spiritual director (priest).
Even Jesus told Saint Faustina this.
(St Faustina’s Diary is a good read).

Discern in the meantime, read Fr Timothy Gallagher’s ‘Discernment of Spirits’ book, (based on st ignatius guidelines for how to discern if something is from God, oneself, or from the devil).
Because: the devil masquerades as an angel of light (he can imitate God).
Also read: ‘St Theresa of Avila’s biography book, she mentions discernment in the book also.

A Distant relative of mine saw their guardian angel once, they were in trouble at night, lost, and a person (their angel) appeared out of nowhere, fixed their car, and then disappeared. They said their guardian angel was very handsome.

Jesus IS God.

How would you know that?
Well… from the base of Mt Sinai, they say His voice sounded like blaring trumpets.

But the people of New Testament time were able to hear His voice, no problem. Like talking to a man.

That depends does a 5 year old with an over active imagination who thinks he’s going to be a saint and pope when he’s older count.

So if you hear trumpets you know it’s God but if you hear Aramaic or English you know it’s Jesus (who is God).

Hi john,welcome to the Forums.
No, thoughts but not voices.May I ask have you ?
God bless.

There are a lot of important points in Ignatian discernment, you can google these, and there are books on it, (all based on Saint ignatius of Loyola’s writing),

Eg:
If something is of God, you will have peace, and be a better person, more giving /merciful /kind / patient person, the person will enjoy all things in life in moderation (making time for work/ rest/ prayer/ family/ friends/ social/ recreation/ hobbies), praying will be easy,

If something is not of God, you will have lack of peace, and vice can increase, becoming an impatient/ unmerciful/ easily angered / lazy / unhelpful / judgemental person, becoming extreme and obsessive about things that remove you from duties such as giving equal time to family/ friends/ work/ rest/ recreation, praying will become difficult,

Yes there is something called the charism of dreams, some of the people in the bible had this gift, such as Joseph in the Old Testament. Saint John Bosco had this gift and has a book called ‘The Forty Dreams of Saint John Bosco.’ The Vatican’s website for the international Catholic Charismatic renewal state yes there is such a thing as the charism of dreams.

But the number one rule is; never believe a private revelation/ dream unless your spiritual director priest approves of it, because scripture says: ‘Satan masquerades as an angel of light.’ Satan can imitate apparitions for his own evil designs.
