Hey all.šŸ™‚

Well, the other day in school my Mormon friend asked me if Catholics believe Mary was perfect. I was a bit rushed in my answer, and I’m not sure if I was correct. I said that she was perfect because she never sinned and that she was perfect in grace and virtue. Is this all correct? (I mean, of course she never sinned, but the other stuff?)

Can we say that Mary was perfect, in keeping with the fact that she was perfect as a human and Jesus was perfect as a human and in a more special way perfect because He was God?

(Obviously, my thinking in that she was perfect in grace and virtue being in the ā€œHail, full of grace,ā€ that Gabriel greeted her with).

Right on the money - that’s what ā€˜immaculate’ means, which she was from the moment of her conception. And you’re also right that she is perfect as a human being, as we are all called to be (with God’s grace of course!)
