sometimes, i think to myself, what a drastic change ive made to my self in the past 3 years, of rejoining the church, participating in liturgy and sacraments and completely or at least trying my best to conform to gods will andhis wants for me.

I think about the sacrifices i have made in not associating with friends i had been with for a long time, not going out to certain places, being more alone, living as a monk for months at a time, confusiion, sacraments, repentance, and the like…

i feel that i know i am on the right track, and im glad to be a catholic… but its also scary for me because while certain, i feel uncertain… while i know i shoulld not worry about tommorow, i dont want to be poor,

i want to enter life eternal, but i need to make sure i do gods will here, and sometimes figuringthat out is frustrating, i want to be spitiual but i knowi have to be material as well…

all of this leads me to sometimes think i am cmopeltely crazy, i sometimes think of the “loose living” many do, and dont seem to care, or even ponder about sin in their lives…

does anyone else feel the way i do, or at least at one time was uncertain, how did it all pan out for them?

and also if you can pray for some sin that is remaining in my life, i am so close to eradicating it all and living a holy hopefully 20 plus years from here

I understand the conflicts. I experience them, too. I will pray for you! Please pray for me!

Read this and do all that you do like Brother Lawrence did (ccel.org/ccel/lawrence/practice) Choose the Read Online link.

Don’t try to figure out “what God’s will for your life” is. Instead tell God before each thing you do in your day, and throughout your life, “Lord, I am doing this thing right now as a gift to you and for you.”

(Note: you won’t be able to accomplish that conversation with God about sinful things - for sinful things that are not God’s will, you have to sneak away in hiding by yourself. So talk to God before everything you do, everything, and tell him it is for him. Read the link; it will take only a couple of hours)

You know you are on the right track. You know that God’s will is to love him. And you know you do love God.

You also know that when you sin, God is faithful to forgive you because God loves you. He will never stop loving you and God will bring you home.

Do not let your former life call you back to its weakness. You are becoming a strong soul. It is the path of all who dwell with God.

Blessings to your heart, 👍

the only thing scarier than being catholic, is not being catholic. God bless!

Take heart and read some of the stories from the Bible about the insane and terrifying things God asked those people to do. Christ calls you out of the boat; you just need to jump and trust.

“The world promises you comfort, but you were not made for comfort. You were made for greatness.”–Pope Benedict XVI

Will pray for you!

agreed! As a catholic we not only have God, we have Jesus, his Holy Mother as an intercessor and all of the saints in our corner! We have a whole army in heaven that we can ask for help from. We’re the lucky ones! Stay strong and keep praying:)

May I suggest that you look into the consecration to Mary.

I’m not recommending this because of St. DeMonfort but rather because of what I have found in it myself…peace…hope…love.

May the God of hope fill you with every joy.
