Son discerning priesthood

Can I ask a favor? Can you please remember my son in your prayers? He is 12 and is discerning the priesthood. He receives Confirmation in May by Archbishop Chaput. And then we will be attending the World Meeting of Families in 2015. What exciting happenings!

Lord, please guide this son with holy angels and special graces, through the intercession of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Lead him through this process ever toward the eternal garden of life. See that his life be a beacon of your grace shining through to the world. Cultivate ever in his heart faith, hope, love, and joy. Lead this whole family together in love always, and with all whom they encounter. Have mercy, Lord. Our Lady, angels, and saints, pray with us. Amen.

Good to hear he has your support. Praying for his journey of faith, may it lead him to serving our Lord through the Holy Priesthood, in accordance with the will of God.
 
Isn’t he a little young to be discerning the priesthood? He isn’t really old enough to know much about the opposite sex. Perhaps when he is older he can make a more informed decision.

O Lord, my God,
You renew the Church in every age
by raising up priests outstanding in holiness,

O God, we earnestly ask You to bless this archdiocese with many priests, brothers and sisters, who will love You with their whole strength and will gladly spend their entire lives in Your service, and to make You known and loved. Bless our families, bless our children. Choose from our homes those needed for Your work. Mary, Queen of the Clergy, pray for us. Pray for our priests, brothers and sisters. Obtain for us many more. I hope that he will be encouraged to live a full life, as many of our best Priests have discerned their Vocation having previously worked in different fields, thereby bringing a depth of maturity and understanding to their pastoral role. Many youngsters go through a religious phase around puberty. I’m not decrying his utter sincerity but hope that those who love him will treat the whole thing with a very light touch at this stage.

Father, 90Domer’s son knows You love him and have
plans for him. But sometimes this boy is overwhelmed
by the thought of his future. Show him how to walk
forward, one day at a time. May he take heart while he
searches openly, learns all about the choices, listens to
others for advice, and pays attention to his own feelings.
By doing these things, may he hear Your call to live
a life that will let him love as only he can, and allow
him to serve others with the special gifts You have
given him.
