The Qur’an is quite clear that there is no “son of God.”

Yes, and it’s quite clear from the Gospels that there is a Son of God. NO middle ground. Sorry!

which is quite clear that the author is not God because the title has been used for thousands of years, and Jesus never said it is wrong…we’d be the first to point it out if it were a “corruption” but a true prophet does not question God’s words…yet this is not the problem. The problem is that the Quran gives wrong theological reasons, if they can be put on the level of theology in the first place.

They say, ‘God has begotten a son.’ God forbid! Self-sufficient is He.

self-sufficient means he doesn’t need a woman.Besides, the true God knows that Son of God has nothing to do with self-sufficiency because God does not need Word/Wisdom, God HAS Wisdom/Word. The author obviously had no clue about the Christian theology.

Such was Jesus, the son of Mary. That is the whole truth, which they still doubt. God forbid that He Himself should beget a son! When He decrees a thing He need only say: ‘Be,’ and it is. 19:35

Allah does not need to beget a son the way men have children, with a wife .He can just say ‘Be.’

He (exalted be the glory of our Lord!) has taken no wife, nor has He begotten any children. 72:13

Again, sex.

Allah said, “The son of Adam tells a lie against me though he has no right to do so, and he abuses Me though he has no right to do so. As for his telling a lie against Me, he claims that I cannot recreate him as I created him before; as for his abusing Me, it is his statement that **I have offspring. No! Glorified be Me! I Am far from taking a wife or offspring.” **(Bukhari)

I think anyone reading the above can in no way come to the conclusion that an all-knowing deity uttered them…it was a human, and a confused one.

And there’s the golden rule of interpreting the Qur’an, which is that it cannot be done by looking at one verse in isolation but the whole of the Qur’an, especially when it’s as strange as the one you’ve just put forward.

That is good, and that is how to interpret any holybooks, which cannot be done by looking at one verse in isolation. So, next time I see my muslim brothers in this forum should also understand this golden rule; Cannot interpret any single verse in the bible at one verse in isolation.

Can’t these verses be understood on their own?

Exo 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Exo 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

Exo 20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

Exo 20:13 Thou shalt not kill.

Exo 20:14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.

Exo 20:15 Thou shalt not steal.

Exo 20:16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

Exo 20:17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.

can you explain why in Arabic the word BUT and (He is above such things.) should be interpreted in another way ?

It makes me remember this verse :

“This day shall We save you in your body, that you may be a Sign to those who come after you! But verily, many among mankind are neglectful of Our Signs” (Quran 10:92)

BADANI means BODY as well as SHIELD, and the correct translation should be :

This day shall We project you with your shield on a bulge in order that you may be a sign to those who come after you

The same way “farasi wa badani” , means “my horse and my shield”
