Son suffering from eczema

My 12 year old son has had eczema since he was a baby,he’s very brave about it and usually it settles down with treatment.Now he’s hitting puberty and reacting to spring time allergies .It is the worst on his face,around his mouth and eyes and he scratches badly in the night until it’s raw:( I used to be able to hold his hands all night so as he couldn’t.
Please pray the Dr can put us on the right treatment?Moving closer to the sea would help my son very much and if prayers were offered that it could become a reality I would really appreciate it.Thanks.

I am so sorry for his suffering. I have eczema too, and I know what that intense itching is like.

Prayers said for him. I hope that you can get the help that he needs.

I had this on my elbows and the Doctors on this side of the world prescribed “Protopic”
Its great, my postman had the same problem above his eyebrow and on his forehead, so I said to him that I had some great stuff gave him a tube of Protopic and the next time I saw him he had a bottle of wine for me. Could you ask your Doctor about it, or if you PM me I could send you a tube, but I would mention it to your family Doctor first though.

Prayer for the Sick

Omnipotent and eternal God, the everlasting Salvation of those who believe, hear us on behalf of Greenfield’s son, who suffers from eczema. Help his doctor find the right treatment and his family move to a seaside area. We we pray that, with his bodily health restored, he may give thanks to Thee in Thy church. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

I had eczema on my feet a couple of years ago. Oh! It was terrible! My feet turned as red as stop lights on a car. Broke out in open wounds. I did some research and found coconut oil as a cure. Got some extra virgin coconut oil, rubbed it on my feet several times a day. Shortly I had it under control. Cheap. Easy to find. And it works. Do a Google search.

Try a total diet change. My friend completely got rid of hers from cutting out all processed foods and taking fish oil. No sugar, white flour or simple carbs. Only fruit, vegetables, meats. Can try to introduce grains after it clears to see what triggers it. It was truly amazing. It is the same with acne. People who switch to a whole foods diet see amazing results. Try that first before you start with the meds. It will be a little difficult but after awhile it is a whole lifestyle change and keeping off all the processed food will pay off. Be creative too with food! There is plenty of information on internet for ideas and recipes etc.
 
I know your son will think this is weird but he should try wearing socks on his hands while he sleeps. It will prevent him from scratching so much. I just getting itchy thinking about your poor son. I hope your doctor can help him.
BTW- I’m jealous of your coming spring. We in the north are watching the leaves falling and it’s getting cold.

You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into Greenfields’s son’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

I know we can’t give medical advise, but my sister and I found that swimming in a well chlorinated pool helps a little one we care for who has eczema. Apparently the higher levels of chlorine help stop the process by cleaning the skin better.

We also use only water on her face. Any soaps, most shampoos cause her a problem. So clear water is good. Of course daily baths help too, especially for other areas of the body. I know some folks think less baths are better but we have found the opposite.

With all the hormonal changes your son will be going through, it is likely that the less product he puts on his face the better. Just plenty of clear water several times a day. It seems to have worked for our little friend. Also, my mother had terrible problems with sensitive skin, and she never used soap on her face as a result. Just water.
