For me leaving the Catholic church was the second best thing I ever did. When I attended nonCatholic churches I witnessed a watering down of the sacrament of marriage, pointless communion services, avoidance of the issue of abortion, obvious avoidance of some scripture verses, and the complete nonmention of Mary who I saw was too prominent in scripture.
Returning to the Catholi church was the very best decision I ever made. But leaving made me appreciate in a way I probably never would have otherwise.
A seperate observation here: I have seen numerous instances of people leaving the Catholic church for another and then returning. I don’t recall a person who left a nonCatholic church for another and then return to his origional one.
