I’m sorry I meant lay men and boys
Not sure what you mean by your comment. I only quoted the above verse as a suggestion. I do not feel it is giving the wrong impression.That sends a wrong message. So women are not reflections of God as well? God does not have a gender.
St. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 11:7
For a man ought not to have his head veiled, since he is the image and reflection of God; but woman is the reflection of man.
Genesis 2 23
Then the man said,
“This at last is bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
this one shall be called Woman,
for out of Man this one was taken
I do, too!Hope it’s delicious!
Well I guess it would be up to the child’s parents to discern how to deliver any information to him.A six-year-old kid isn’t going to understand that. Just tell him the Bible says males do not cover their head in church.
I think so, too, but the husband doesn’t go to mass, and the wife is here asking for advice.Well I guess it would be up to the child’s parents to discern how to deliver any information to him.
Parents who teach their children that the parents’ standards of good manners are not up for debate do their children a favor. This is particularly true when the child wanting the theoretical exposition of the rule is really looking for a reason to get around the rule.The Church is not a democracy. Tell him it’s not appropriate.
Yes, that is right. I agree. I was only pointing out that the mother was asking for advice, people weren’t telling her how to raise her son.But Mass going or not, the father is still the father. He still retains the right, along with the mother, to determine how information is delivered to the child.
It is fairly common in peaceful households for the non-church-attending parent to allow the church-attending parent to set the church-going rules, just as it is most common for the non-hunting parent to allow the hunting parent to set the rules that are to be followed while hunting.But Mass going or not, the father is still the father. He still retains the right, along with the mother, to determine how information is delivered to the child.
I am, too. I think topic drift is part of it. (The #MeToo thread now has nothing at all to do with the topic.) I do see some posts here that are on topic, though. The OP probably doesn’t even look at the thread any longer.I’m amazed this thread is still going!![]()
Then you don’t understand its role in culture and community.Etiquette is overrated
