Hello everyone, a few months ago, the 2nd reading for Mass was parts of Revelation Ch. 7. It really struck me, and as soon as I heard the words I wanted to write a song about them. I do music for my local Church’s youth ministry, and I want to make sure my lyrics are Theologically sound.

"I looked out and saw the people,
Standin’ there before the Throne.
There, dressed in a white robe;
Palm branches in our hands.
Crying out with one loud voice,
“Salvation comes from the Lamb.”

Seated at the right hand of the Father,
His arm stretched o’er all the Earth.

Trumpets sounding all around me,
Angels high upon the wing.
I was sealed by the Spirit,
As they purified my soul.
Bathed in water and the blood,
Pouring out from His side.

Seated at the right hand of the Father,
His arm stretched o’er all the Earth.

The old Earth passed away beneath my feet,
As the Father made all things new.
The Alpha and Omega,
The beginning and the end.
I drank deeply from the water;
The holy spring of His gifts.

Seated at the right hand of the Father,
His arm stretched o’er all the Earth
Behold, Behold."

Based on Revelations Ch. 7 & 21.

The flow of the lines sound awkward when reading them, but in the song they are phrased nicely. I just want to make sure I am not creating a theologically inaccurate song.

Thank you!

You should confer with your priest to see if the lyrics are sound or not. I would advise you to not put your intellectual property on line or in an open forum unless copyrighted. Peace.
