Howdy !!

I need help.

I will be responsible for a witness on the Eucharist at my parish. Once my witness is done, I need a song to play.

I need to buy a music CD that has a song on it that focuses on the Eucharist. I’m hoping for something new. I love “One Bread, One Body”. It’s one of my favorites, but this isn’t exactly what I have in mind.

I don’t listen to much radio (I have a motorcycle) and really need the assistance.

Any suggestions?!

Greetings Cazayoux,
What an interesting name! I personally like “Gift of Finest Wheat” because it explores the mystery of the Eucharist a little more deeply. Also, I like the tune. 😃
Code:
Also, how about Tantum Ergo; can't go wrong with Thomas Aquinas, the Doctor of the Eucharist. See here: [geocities.com/CapitolHill/8246/tantum.html](http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/8246/tantum.html)

Happy Lent!

If you looking for something less traditional, more rock, I would suggest Matt Maher’s “The End and the Beginning”, it is on his CD with the same title. He is a great Catholic songwriter. He actually uses the word “transubstantiation” in the song. I highly recommend the CD. Someone at my parish used this song for his witness on the Eucharist at the Christ Renews His Parish Retreat.

Two of my favorite Eucharist hymns are Panis Angelicus and Soul of My Savior. You should be able to find them both in any Catholic music book. Soul of My Savior is the musical version of the Anima Christi which is my prayer immediately upon recieving Christ in the Eucharist:

Soul of My Savior:
Soul of my Savior sanctify my breast,
Body of Christ, be thou my saving guest,
Blood of my Savior, bathe me in thy tide,
wash me with waters gushing from thy side.

Strength and protection may thy passion be,
O blessed Jesus, hear and answer me;
deep in thy wounds, Lord, hide and shelter me,
so shall I never, never part from thee.

Guard and defend me from the foe malign,
in death’s dread moments make me only thine;
call me and bid me come to thee on high
where I may praise thee with thy saints for ay.

which is the song version of Anima Christi:
Soul of Christ, sanctify me
Body of Christ, save me
Blood of Christ, inebriate me
Water from Christ’s side, wash me
Passion of Christ, strengthen me
O good Jesus, hear me
Within Thy wounds hide me
Suffer me not to be separated from Thee
From the malicious enemy defend me
In the hour of my death call me
And bid me come unto Thee
That I may praise Thee with Thy saints
and with Thy angels
Forever and ever
Amen

Oregon Catholic Press.
ocp.org I think, they have a big catalog of some fine
music for the rites. one version of Our Father has even brought a few of us to tears. nothing like celerbrating mass and noticing a priest and a bishop with tears streaming down thier faces.

a CD with Tantum Ergo/O Salutaris in Latin and English, with a copy of the lyrics would be great. These are from the great Eucharistic poem by Thomas Aquinas.

depending on your audience, We Are One Body by Dana Scallon is also great, especially for kids.

There was one called “prisoner of love in the tabernacle” dunno if you could get it though.
