Besides the different numbered hymns we sing during Mass, there are a few others that my wife and I really enjoy listening to. The problem is we cant find any CDs with these songs on them. Kyrie, Hosana, and Gloria are some of the songs we sing every Sunday. Were can we find recordings of these songs?
Thanks

the cd you want is called the chant from the hermitage. it is a gregorian chant version of the songs they do a lot of the pslams but the gloria and kyre are sung. they do not however sing hosena. my advice would be to search for that on itunes im sure you will find many hits.

If you’re talking about the Mass of Creation, (which is, sadly, the most common music setting for the Gloria, Sanctus, Amen, etc. in the US), then you can order it on CD here or through amazon.

Hope that helps.

As has been implied by others… It depends. There are multiple settings of those parts of the Mass and unless you know what your particular parish is using you won’t know where to find a CD. Some are ancient settings and others are modern settings.

If you know that the setting comes from a missal or song book used by your parish then you can probably figure out the setting. If you don’t read music you may not be able to tell which setting your parish uses unless you ask someone who would know this sort of thing.

Try iTunes

Ask your organist or choir director what the name and composer are of whichever Mass settings that you enjoy. Whatever it is, it is likely that there at least several, if not many, CD’s out there with that Mass setting. Then google the name of the setting and composer and you will have it.
