I ask for a thoughtful Hail Mary for my son, who is 11 and will be serving his first Mass this Saturday as an altar server. Just to make it a little more fun and exciting he broke his left wrist last Thursday while at a 6th grade school skating party and is also just now getting over a bad cold. Poor guy, I told him I think he is falling apart and it might be time for a tune-up!
If I could show him how much others (even strangers to him) care and love and pray for our neighbors I think he would draw strength from it. I’ll post a picture Saturday night.

Paul

ps This son has expressed interest in the priesthood and I hope this is the first step to God’s calling.

Thank you in advance.

I’m going to be an Altar Server myself soon, so I’ll definitely pray everything goes well for him! 😃

O God, You have graciously called Paul’s son to serve You upon Your altar. Grant him the graces that he need to serve You faithfully and wholeheartedly. Grant too that while serving You, may he follow the example of St. Tarcisius, who died protecting the Eucharist, and walk the same path that led him to Heaven.

St. Tarcisius, pray for him and for all servers.

Hes in my prayer intentions that he may serve mass well and that if the priesthood is his true vocation that he will come to realize that fully.

Just remind him to do his very best job up on the altar, your gonna mess up the first time your up there, just remember to always be reverent. As altar servers we are called to be the silent worshipers at mass. We do not distract from the priest but assist him in any way shape or form. Its ironic that I find this post right as i’m off to an altar server training for my school so hes definately in my prayers! :D:D

Lord Jesus, give Your blessing to Paul2274 and his son…Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Lord Jesus, hear our prayers for Paul2274, his son and family. Amen

St. Joseph, pray for us!

Praying for your son that this may be a very holy and special experience for him.

As a altar server in the past I can tell you that your son will have a wonderful time… and be trueley blest…

And he will be excited to hear some of the whispers that priests say that the congregration don’t hear that often…

I say them as the Priest says them… having heard them many… many times myself…

As for the calling to Priesthood… I also have had a strong calling since I was 10… and am now 41…

I just quit my job and intend to enrole in Theology Studies as I discern the Holy Orders… still not too late 🙂

May God Bless your son… please keep up the encouragement… it is wonderful to hear that he has a strong Love for God…

I will pray for him… 🙂

I am also 41… (well I will be on Monday 21st) I am almost in awe every Mass we go to watching the priest and remembering the last supper and picturing Jesus as He gave us the greatest gift of the Eucharist. I guess it is one of those things that getting older has made me realize the immenseness and the mystery of the Mass. To hear you comment about the “whispers” that the priest says that only you could hear on the altar sent chills through me and me tear up thinking of the greatness of the priesthood and those whispers and how we have to intently listen for the whispers of our calling from God.

I am joy filled that you have heard those whispers of your calling and have taken a step towards your answer of ‘Yes’ to God’s call… even at 41;)
I will pray for your studies and your discernment.

Paul
