So what exactly are you suggesting?
The church already does what it can considering the inherently sinful nature of the homosexual act. Are you suggesting a relaxation of the standard?

I have been boycotting Sony products and I will continue to do so. This includes their web sites.

Well yeah, I really dont appreciate being branded disturbed and vile…

And please don’t pray for my soul as if i’m gonna go to hell for being gay…
 
The church does not brand anyone disgusting and vile.
The church does condemn certain actions and behaviors as inherently sinful. Perhaps you have been listening too much to the media.

But I am still confused, what specifically are you suggesting?
What standard do you believe should be relaxed?

I will pray for your soul to get to heaven. I will pray that you not act on your desires just as we would for any other sinner. I will pray that you not espouse or embrace the gay lifestyle.

The Church does not have authority to change Jesus’ teachings. It cannot change teachings to suit modernity.
 
I looked at the experts at that website.

95% of them are Protestants.

they have three Orthodox Christians

one Catholic

Where are the members of our Church on that website?

And I mean orthodox ones.

Umm, Jesus never said anything about homosexuality??

And i’m not insulting our Pope, just simply stating that he’s a lot more conservative…

I wasn’t suggesting anything because the Church would never accept that homosexuality isn’t a disease. I guess they need scientific proof? Cough, heliocentric theory, cough. I was just simply saying that there are many other things that fuel the Anti-Catholic movement, let’s not attack a meaningless book like the “DaVinci Code”

Jesus said much more than is contained in the Bible. The Bible itself says that. That is where oral Tradition comes in.

Amen! I enjoyed the book for the entertaining fiction it is and am looking forward to seeing the movie with no fear or reservation that doing so will in any way endanger my soul or shake my faith.

Jesus is God!

God has spoken about a great many things in both Testaments, including homosexuality, adultery, etc.

Therefore, Jesus has most definitely spoken on this issue.

Ezra,
The church does not view same-sex attractions as a disease. They have done extensive medical research through the Catholic Medical Association. You can read their statement in the booklet “Homosexuality and Hope.” You can get it from Catholic Answers. It should help you to understand the Catholic Church’s stance on this subject better. The Church and those who follow her teachings do not dislike you. You are loved and welcome. 🙂

Your posts illustrate well why this film/book is so seductive and dangerous. Those who are ripe to be plucked away from the church will readily listen to others who are willing to tickle their ears with lies. Instead of a steady diet of “garbage” perhaps your time would be better spent in learning exactly what your faith does teach and why (you listed your religion as Catholic).

Your comments are heartbreaking, on many levels. 😦 And you will be in my prayers.
