Sophia the Sacred Wisdom

I was looking through some icons on this website

Who is the figure in the middle called Sophia the Sacred Wisdom? Why is she red ?

Among the Rus’ people, red is traditionally considered the most beautiful of colors. Since these are Russian icons, I imagine that is why she is red.

Actually, these are showing CHRIST as the personified Wisdom of God.

That’s the REAL significance of the Church of the Holy Wisdom (Aghia Sophia) in Kiev and Constantinople, mistakenly called “Saint Sophia” by some writers.
