I thank Pope Benedict and others in the Catholic Church for explaining in great detail, how God is necessary to a process that is advertised as purely self-contained, without the need for any supernatural involvement whatsoever.

People, especially young people, are clearly believing that they are the result of an unintelligent mechanism fueled by mutation followed by ‘natural’ selection. The Church clearly teaches that this answer is totally inadequate. But evolutionary science does not stop there. Not only is man just another animal, but man’s mind is just an outgrowth of matter. Our ‘selfish genes’ do all of our choosing in life. They program us. We perform adaptive, or, in some cases, maladaptive, behaviors and reproduce, or not, and die. Literally without consequence. Some of us may be literally unaware of the Creating Reason with whom we can have a personal relationship. “Man does not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” This is not just meant as a religious/spiritual message but as one for everyday life, real life.

Peace,
Ed

Life is not just a bunch of outgrowth matter. Let’s just say there was no God (though we all know there IS 😃 ) life would still be beautiful! wondrous! amazing! and mysterious! So what that God brought the universe and it’s laws into existence, then used His tool evolution to have us form. It’s still his creation, it’s still AWESOME!!

I personally think evolution adds much more mystery to God as well.

Hi:) I honestly don’t believe God uses tools. 😃 This is why…

Diachronous dawn of Africa’s Middle Stone Age: **New 40Ar/39Ar ages from the Ethiopian Rift **

The Middle Stone Age (MSA) of Africa, like the Middle Paleolithic of Europe, is thought to represent a time period wherein **toolmakers **acquired significant increases in cognitive abilities and physical dexterity. Existing data fail to resolve whether the MSA emerged gradually, abruptly, or discontinuously, and whether this industry reflects the activity of Homo sapiens. Here we present new 40Ar/39Ar geochronological data revealing that advanced MSA archaeology at two sites in the main Ethiopian Rift is older than 276 ka, much older than technologically comparable MSA archaeology from elsewhere. An age of 183 ka for a unit farther upsection, along with the technological stasis observed throughout the section, indicates that similar technology was used here for ~93 ka. These results suggest that MSA technology evolved asynchronously in different places, and challenge the notion of a distinct time line for either the appearance of the MSA or the disappearance of the earlier Acheulean. These and other recent results indicate that the oldest known MSA consistently predates fossil evidence for the earliest Homo sapiens.

Humans 80,000 Years Older Than Previously Thought?
Kate Ravilious
for National Geographic News
December 3, 2008

Modern humans may have evolved more than 80,000 years earlier than previously thought, according to a new study of sophisticated stone tools found in Ethiopia.

The **tools were uncovered in the 1970s at the archaeological site of Gademotta, in the Ethiopian Rift Valley. But it was not until this year that new dating techniques revealed the tools to be far older than the oldest known Homo sapien bones, which are around 195,000 years old. **

Using argon-argon dating—a technique that compares different isotopes of the element argon—researchers determined that the volcanic ash layers entombing **the tools **at Gademotta date back at least 276,000 years.

Many of the tools found are small blades, made using a technique that is thought to require complex cognitive abilities and nimble fingers, according to study co-author and Berkeley Geochronology Center director Paul Renne.
Some archaeologists believe that these tools and similar ones found elsewhere are associated with the emergence of the modern human species, Homo sapiens.

I used a few tools today. I used a rake to gather all the leaves in my backyard. I also used a nail and hammer to hang a picture that I made out of pressed flowers and leaves with little cut out faces from photographs inside the middle of 'em. It really is cute. Kinda my signature style ~ :yup: Tomorrow- tomorrow-tomorrow,
I’m getting :christmastree1::extrahappy:

The mystery of God is all wrapped up in the birth of baby Jesus! I’m so excited for XMas day to be here as a reminder how much he is loved by billions of people. 🙂 I luv him.❤️ Time for xmas songs while sitting by the fire. 😃

Although one can imagine things coming to be without God, this is not true. The atheist imagines everything came to be without God. Evolutionary Psychology tells us our responses of beauty or wonder or amazement are just biochemical reactions in our brains; positive adaptive perceptions to attract us to a mate or to things that would be beneficial to our survival, that’s all. As biological robots programmed and guided by our genes, we have no choice but to respond as programmed.

Over the last few weeks, I’ve seen you get more and more of it, Ed. I’m quite sincere in saying that.
What I’m getting is that textbook evolution is an insufficient scientific answer and, because it is connected to atheism by scientism, a distortion of the reality of God.

It is clear that too many people view their existence as an accident unconnected to the Living God.

Peace,
Ed

Maybe you’re not quite ready to talk about it. But I think you’re seeing some things that weren’t so clear before.

Unless you’ve developed the ability to read parts of my mind inaccessible to myself, I haven’t the foggiest idea what you mean. I’ve said exactly what I mean.

Peace 🙂
