Sorry if this sounds silly but if my intention hasn't been granted after 27 days of 54 day novena

Did St Augustine convert in 54 days or did it take years for his conversion?

God can nudge but he does not force, and some things take more time then 54 days

Why not, haven’t you heard about St. Therese and her roses? There are so many ways.
 
So He can nudge mine in the same way? I’m not asking for a full conversion to Bishop and top drawer saint.
 
Someone wrecking my life at work with their lies which has then had an impat on my marriage.
 
Novenas are private devotions. That’s all they are. Nothing else.

Our Blessed Lord wants us to pray for what we want, because we are supposed to acknowledge our utter and total dependence on Him, and to subordinate our “want” to His Will. Put another way, we are to do Him the courtesy of asking Him, even though He has known from all eternity precisely what we need, and what we do not need.

I know you know this, but God is not our magic genie, and X number of “special prayers” will not change His Will. He wants you to ask like a little child for what you would prefer, and He wants you to accept with joyful obedience whatever He ends up giving you — or not giving you.
 
God isn’t a genie in a bottle. You don’t pray for X number of days and presto, he grants your wish or fixes your problem. Prayer is about building a relationship with God.

As said above, if God is saying “no” then you might need to step back and re-evaluate what you’re asking for and whether God might have something else in mind for you.
 
I am dependent on Him, nobody else can help me. Surely praying 54 rosaries in a row shows how much effort you are putting in for your intention?
 
Well, for what it is worth…

I am in construction. A few months ago I temporarily helped with a crew that was run by a very mean boss. The guy could never stop yelling about stupid stuff. He was always getting on his crew for the smallest mistake. It made his crew visibly anxious. It gave me a bit of anxiety for the 2 months I helped them just hearing him yelling at his regulars. He was easier with me because I was just helping temporarily. But his 2 regulars got yelled at constantly all day.

One of his crew members began a novena to Padre Pio for a way out. Before the novena even finished he was transfered to another crew.

But he still had to suffer all that torment for about 9 months first.

I have read a book written by a priest where pretty much every relative he pray for to convert to Catholicism did end up converting. And I have known priest who have family who still have not converted or reverted yet and may never do it. I prayed fervently for about 5 years to find my wife. I was so lonely. Buckets of tears in Adoration. God let me suffer for 5 years before I met my wife. And I’m glad He did.

He is greater than a genie but you also pray the 54 day novena. When I was younger a teen was given six months to leave due to multiple brain tumours. She prayed the rosary every night with a few others and when she went back to the hospital they doctors said it was a miracle, they couldn’t understand it, she lived a lot longer than six months.

This is the thing right here. Sometimes on earth we have to suffer for a while. It might not make any sense to us while it’s happening. And praying 54 or even 1000 rosaries in a row is no guarantee that one won’t have some suffering. As explained in the book of Job, this suffering is part of God’s plan and sometimes later on we get some insight why we went through it and sometimes we don’t.

Some of us read books and go to workshops and pray trying to better understand why bad things happen to good people. Some of us accept that bad things sometimes happen and we read books and go to workshops and pray trying to understand how we can better use our sufferings to help souls in purgatory, or help Jesus in his work of redemption, or help ourselves be better Christians, etc.

Why was the 54 novena created or why did Jesus talk about the unjust judge?
 
Novenas are made primarily to increase your grace and devotion, not to grant wishes. Increasing your devotion increases your ability to understand the response of God, including understanding when he doesn’t seem to be responding.

And if you want to be emulating Jesus’ story of the unjust judge, then you have to keep praying even when you’re not getting the desired outcome. Jesus didn’t specify a magic number of prayers, like “how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop”.

Let me see, a little over 10 years ago when I lost my job, my entire career went POOF, we lost our house on the lake, both boats, our cars, the rental we moved to would not even allow our dogs, yeah my world went up in flames.

Had to take an entry level job at 1/4 of what I was earning, see, I was the breadwinner for our family.

Little did I know that almost a decade later, that “lesser job” would allow me to spend more time with my husband when his heart failed. I spent the last 3 years of his life spending more time with him, God knew that was coming. I did not.

My husband left me a widow in August. I knew that I’ve been through my world collapsing once, this is worse, but, I have Faith that God has brought me this far, He is not going to abandon me beside the road now.
 
Perhaps you should pray for God’s will in your life?

Sometimes we pray for something and God may wish to give us our heart’s desire. Unfortunately, other people also have free will and they may not do their part, for whatever reason.
 
Prayers are always answered, just maybe not how we wanted. Sometimes a ‘no’ is an answer.
 
Keep praying in thanksgiving anyway. Thats what you are supposed to do. God can work on His time, you can’t rush Him.
