Do the human souls in hell attempt to bring other souls on earth into hell? In other words, do the humans in hell cooperate with the demons and with satan to harm the people on earth?

Let’s look at the very nature of the beings in hell. The demons, who are fallen angels, have the same powers as all the angels, but are severed from the glory of god. The demons still have powers that are not ours. We humans, have no powers than that that is provided by the gifts of grace.

To elucidate, when we pray to Saints in heaven, the Saint can’t hear our conscious prayer (they have no ears and have no ability to hear thoughts of other humans, no esp or psychic stuff, even in heaven) and the only way they hear our prayer is through the grace of God that allows, or forwards the message of prayer.

In hell, the predominant factor is the absence of God, the absolute void of nothing good. There is no evil in hell because there is no good in hell to balance, it is just pure dejection, misery, emptiness and a void of anything that we have ever held as good.

In short, I don’t think the human souls in hell can have any power to do anything because they are completely cut off from the one who can provide the power. The demons, being created creatures in and of themselves, can not transmit the graces of god so that the human in hell could reach out and affect the material world as we know it.

As a final perspective, both the angels and demons have free will, still to this day. The angles only use spiritual forces (healing, moving stuff, supernatural things) with the permission of God. Demons don’t need God’s permission to affect the world and people, but they’ve learned that almost every time, if they show up and confirm the existence of devils, the human realizes that demons are real, therefore God has to be real, and we chose God over the Devil, demons lose out by acting on their free will.

Last bit, promise, there’s people who say stuff like “If you don’t speak out loud, the devil can’t hear you”. This is simply not true. We do not know the full extent of the truth, but I can’t imagine, a fallen angel, gifted by the supernatural gifts of their own creation, is limited by “ears” that they don’t have. It is the intention in the heart, the will of the conscious that they can and do correlate with.

Keep your prayers and thought upward, to the goodness and graces that is from God alone.

Blessings,
Kevin

This brings to mind the rich man and Lazarus:
Luke 16:19-31
19 “There was a rich man, who was clothed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day.
20 And at his gate lay a poor man named Lazarus, full of sores,
21 who desired to be fed with what fell from the rich man’s table; moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried;
23 and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes, and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 And he called out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy upon me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am in anguish in this flame.’
25 But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner evil things; but now he is comforted here, and you are in anguish.
26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, in order that those who would pass from here to you may not be able, and none may cross from there to us.’
27 And he said, 'Then I beg you, father, to send him to my father’s house,
28 for I have five brothers, so that he may warn them, lest they also come into this place of torment.'
29 But Abraham said, ‘They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.’
30 And he said, ‘No, father Abraham; but if some one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’
31 He said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be convinced if some one should rise from the dead.’”
It seems to me that the torments of Hell are such that those there do not wish for others to join them.

Interesting theological question. It’s also a difficult one to answer definitively. I have heard various arguments.

Here is one thing I can give you for now:

In the exorcism that was documented of Anneliese Michelle in Germany, two of the demons that were discerned identified themselves as Nero and Hitler. I don’t think one could say that they were demons, properly speaking if those were the spirits of the two men.

( on my phone, so no essays for now.)

Could you provide some documentation for that (name removed by moderator)?

Yes. However, from what I have read on exorcisms, I don’t think that necessarily means that they were not telling the truth. Of course, demons never willingly tell the truth unless it fits their twisted purposes. However, part of the process of exorcisms is forcing the demons, by the authority of Christ, to identify themselves. This knowledge is then used to expel them. The demons never willingly identify themselves (Satan’s greatest trick is to convince people he doesn’t exist), but they ultimately have no choice because they must submit to the power of Christ.

I think you would find her story quite interesting if you research it in depth. I found it very interesting and terribly sad as she suffered to a degree that words fail. But I don’t want to go off-topic on this thread. Maybe I’ll make an Annelise Michel thread. Anyways, I will dig up a few resources for further reading.

It’s rather disturbing. Listening to the audio tapes, I don’t recommend for sensitive people.

Researching her story takes time to sort out the junk from more substantive journalism and accounts.

This short documentary falls somewhat in between those two places…

Humans are different beings than demons (which are fallen angels), so I wouldn’t put too much stock in what was said during those events, whether it was just the ramblings of a mentally ill person or the trickster comments of demons.

Unlike Jesus in Luke, I wouldn’t take them as “gospel” 🤣

It’s a hard question to answer. I think Fr. Amorth once mentioned the rich man and Lazarus story. My memory is a little clouded on what all was said…but:

I think he said something to the effect that when someone enters hell on account of someone else’s bad example, the person gets a deeper place in hell than they had before, so it would benefit the rich man to try and keep his brothers out of hell at this point as it would keep himself from going even deeper into Hell. (It’s commonly believed that there are various levels of Hell.)

What about this? According to this story (24 pages), souls in hell want everyone to go to hell and can only feel hate. They only speak the truth because they are not permitted to lie. http://sicutincaelo.org/downloads/HELL_read.pdf

I appreciate your reflections upon these ideas. They say the book has an imprimatur from the Pope’s vicar in Rome?

This is a story, and only that. an imprimatur only means “let it be printed” and does not affirm that it is free of errors. Plus, I can claim that this post I am writing has a “Nihil obstat” and “Imprimatur” that was granted by the Vicar of Rome, but that doesn’t mean it is actually true.

Even the wording they use seems suspect:
The “Nihil obstat” was granted by the Vicar of Rome, and
the “Imprimatur” of the Pope’s Vicar for Rome guarantees the
text free from doctrinal error.
Their own description of an Imprimatur is incorrect, so I have my doubts as to it actually having received one.
