No they don’t. People spending 50 years hopeless in a maximum security prsion have it BAD, the souls who are told by God that their eternal fate is hell have it infinitely WORSE than the folks in Purgatory. People in Purgatory are very happy, there may be an element of pain in the purification they’re undergoing, it can be likened to the pain of labour a pregnant woman is willing to accept because she knows she will soon behold her cherished treasure. Same with the people in Purgatory, God is like a sun that they see more clearly everyday. If you want to have it BAD, choose hell. Folks in Purgatory are way happier than you and me. They no longer have the weight or the pull of sin, the terror of hell, they have eternal security, no despair, no hopelessness, being with God is a matter of time, they no longer have depression, anxiety or other mental illnesses. How awesome is that? Very awesome.
